My wife has not quite accepted the Joes mostly because they are the new guys in the collection. I have none of my ARHs left so she was hesitant in me starting yet another line. But she can name almost all of my Marvel Legends and has scored me quite a few hard to find figures (she called all of her friends and some of mine when she found Juggernaut) and is looking for some of the Joes for me. The other day she found me "the bubble and the bike". Since I am out of the country and doing most of my purchases on-line I think the number of boxes have started to worry her a little bit. Thank BBTS for pile of loot, you can hide a lot in one box.

Like him ^^^, I do what I can to keep my wife happy and satisfied, thereby she tolerates my Joe "nerd-dom." I have collected military models, 12" figs (not the new Joe ones), etc. for a while now, so she is used to it. I just get the occasional, "What's this, a toy store?" comments. Not too bad though. I haven't recruited her to hunt for anything for me, that's my job. She's busy chasing our three kids, so I just do my hunting while doing errands or spending "daddy time" with the kids (at Target, TRU or Walmart typically). Meanwhile, I spoil her from time to time in other ways. Hello Josh Groban CD/DVD's...

I wish my wife was like all yours she is impartial to me collecting them even though she plays video games and her guitar i always ask her why cant i have a hobby??? And her friends raz me(in good humor)about playing with my dolls my defense of course is "they are collectable action figures that i display" never works though at least i have my own room to keep my "crap" sO she dont have to see it amazingly enough its also were her "kiss"collectables and "dolls are to lol!!!!

My poor wife is very understanding, I keep saying they are for the kid and she keeps asking when he'll actually be allowed to play with daddys toys.

My wife is supportive of my "nerd hobby". I showed her some listings on Ebay for Joe items and once she found out how much everything was going for...she got on board. She even asked me what was new on "the Tank" the other day! It's not her I have to worry about...
Two of my best friends found out I collect Joes and started razzing me BIG TIME..."Hey, Snake Eyes...what are you doing this weekend? Maybe you could come over to the house with your swords. I've got some tree trimming to do!" IT was all fun and games till one guy accidentally spilled the beans on his Star Wars collection in his spare room and the other guy...well...he was teasing me in the car on the way to a football game and his wife says, "Nate, you should talk. You still have that Garfield collection somewhere." I about wet my pants. Now...nobody gives me crap. |

She is okay with me collecting but gets pissed when I buy 50 Vipers or something. She don't understand why I need that many of the 'same guy.' I say it because he is a trooper and then get the 'your such a nerd' and eye rolling. |
