This has puzzled me because in my experiences with toys, single pack variants have always been more "valuable" per se than a variant two pack, vehicles, etc so not sure why everybody keeps making a point to compare the Wraith single figure to the BHD comic pack?
Wouldn't a more legitimate comparison be Wraith to Snake Eyes and Black Timber? That is the only true variant Hasbro has made (Yellow Stalker was a mistake) in the GI Joe single-carded figure line.

Snake Eyes however was very limited. Wraith is mostly hype, with some saying the production runs of BHD are the same for Clear Wraith. No matter what this figure will bottom out price wise in a month or so.

There is more clear Wraiths listed on ebay than regular Wraiths, and it hasnt yet hit mass retail yet. I think this fig will be easier to find than BHD and certainly black Timber. When the black Timber came out I dont think they were producing as many as they are now so you cant compare the rarety of those 2 figs. You might be able to compare it to the Shipwreck variant since they were produced in about a 2/1 or 3/1

How does one go about making that kind of mistake.....
"oops we used yellow color plastic instead of green and painted him accordingly" I can see snake eyes him being black plastic and all and the wolf having a painted white underbelly anyway. But a completely different color figure? Doesn't seem like a mistake to me. It's like I used orange plastic for cobra commander, packaged him then sent him out. |
