I do that sometimes, especially if the stores are in a small radius to each other. Like when I check out TRU in Times Square, I'll usually walk over to Penn Station to check out K-Mart and then Kaybee in the Manhattan mall.
But sometimes if I find what I needed I'll just leave happy |

Since scalpers and other colectors on the prowl for figures has made finding an already hard to get series even harder to get, I have given up tracking my figures down at brick and mortars and now utilize online shopping. So I get all excited when I hear the UPS truck screech to a halt outside. Anything I find in a brick and mortar at this point is incidental.
I used to go on the hunt regularly, but since getting married to a woman who loathes any and all of my collecting, I have made life easier by having the figures come to me. |

I don't think so, as the M.O.T.H. sets only come with two figures each. Well, it could be though as there was a desert set, a snow set, a jungle set, and shipwreck and chuckles. It would be great for two more sets similar to the other M.O.T.H. sets.

It's strange that my LCS is my new place to get incomplete sets and doubles (if they get em. which is fine cause I pick up my funny books anyway). But with prices the way they are now I'm usually winning. $7.99 - 10% (weekly sale) x no tax = $7.19 at LCS. $7 x tax = $7.58 at retail.

BTW for my NYCers go to the Visitor's info desk up the block and get the guide. It usually got a 20% off coupon for 1 item exclusively at times Sq. TRU. Online is the way to go though. It's good to keep down frustration on the hunt.

I hit more stores. If this Target has new stuff, all the Targets should have new stuff! This of course is not usually true, but heck - I'm looking for trends. More often than not it is just dumb luck.
It seems that the more I look, the less I find. A friend of mine will just happen to be in a store and - presto - that figure I was searching for aimlessly will just be sitting there. It's just dumb luck. |

I only check other stores, if I only find some of a wave. But if I get a complete wave at the 1 store, no need to go checking other stores.

I work at a small (non-super-store?)Wal-mart, and I see everything that comes in on a daily basis, and I study the wave names from Entertainment Earth, so generally after the toys folks work their stuff during the day, I have a pretty good idea what to prepare to buy the next night I come in to work. Of course I could just be a yag and grab what I want, but that's not the G.I. Joe way. I'm pretty sure the people who pick off pallets will probably have "duke arms" in the afterlife, I hope.
The store doesn't really get hit up for Joe stuff, we just get ripped off a lot, I can't even remember how many dangling cards w/out a figure i've seen. |
