Hello everyone, (Mod's if this belongs elsewhere, please feel free to move it to the correct forum)
I'd like to get some input from the members here on a new Collection site, or more specifically the GI Joe 25th Anniversary catalogue. The Ultimate Collector's Platform - ShelfLife is the site and has the potential to be an amazing place to keep track of your collection as well as buy and sell (they're still working on the buy/sell portion but that will be active in the next month or so). It's been in beta testing for the past few months but has recently been opened up to anyone that would like to sign up. I've spent a little while adding in the 25th Anniversary catalogue and now that it's open to everyone, I'd like some input from the members of this great forum on any improvements to the catalogue (and the rest of the site, which I can forward on to the correct people) *I'd like to clarify, I do not own the site, I am not a part of the staff or anything, I have simply 'curated' the 25th Ann. catalogue* Anyway, please check it out when you get a chance and either use the 'report an error' on any page or post or PM here if you'd like any info or have any comments. Thanks alot! |

Looks interesting. It sort of reminds me comic collector live.

Awesome guys. Yes please have a look and let me know if you see any errors or problems or if there is anything you'd like added. I'm still needing to fill in the pics, unfortunately all my Joe stuff is currently in storage so I cant take pics myself at the moment. If anyone has any pics of their own that they'd like to add, please feel free to do so.

Just gonna give this a bump for those that missed it. Any and all input is appreciated. I figured my fellow 'tankers would be the best test for the catalogue.
I think I've got everything done correctly but I was never a completist with the 25th line so there are a few things I never bought. So am I missing anything or is there anything I should do differently? |

Playing around with it. Looks pretty good. Very extensive with the parts/condition of the pieces/etc..
What I don't like, and it would probably prevent me from using it, is that there isn't a way to view my collection. I have to go into the catalogs and scroll through the lists to see what is highlighted "have". Having a database listing would be really great and would make the site that much better.

Until then, when you select "collect" and go through the various catalogues, it does show a number beside each sub-catalogue of how many products you have within that sub-catalogue. It's not really what you're looking for but it gets one step closer, maybe. |

It's a step, but it's a small step.
For me to really use that site, I'd want to be able to see all my collection (Joe, Star Wars, Transformers, etc..) on one viewable screen. I wouldn't need to see the parts breakdown (which, though pretty cool, isn't that high up on the list of requirements) in the overall view but I want a quick glance at what I have. My excel spreadsheet for Joe that I used (used because it's so out of date that I really need to start over) had: Wave/Name/Packaging (loose or MOC/MIB)/Bought Price/Notes
