I am all about doing whatever it takes to SPITE the scalpers out there.
If it means giving a HOT item to disabled children, then good for you.
If it means occasionally buying the items and selling them on Ebay to finance 2-3 Firebats, then good for you too.
Scalpers are the epitome of evil, and I am glad that you are sticking it to them.

Buying Hot Wheels out from under those losers and turning a profit on them sounds like a great way to make money for Joes.
Forget it Jake, it's Hisstank.

i've seen these freaks a lot! they are scary. grubby is a very appropriate discription.
for zombies, they sure do run fast!
i took this photo at tru, before they opened the other day, i'm certain they were salivating for the newest limited edition mattel 93 camero hot-wheel blast-ems..

I don't like the fact that when you went back these guys were ripping cars off the cards to see what ones they were. Woulda been nice if one of the security guards or a manager had seen them destroying property like that.
I do have to say though that I stand outside a TRU with two Hot Wheels guys regulary and they seem like nice people. They don't run into the store and they're not rude (The people at TRU seem to even like them)
I'm sure they're the exception and not the rule though

Outside of Target these two weird looking old dudes were talking about a green mustang treasure and I thought "ugh... hot wheels people." (Yes, nerdy toy collectors can hate other nerdy toy collectors. I'm looking at you Barbie/Hot Wheels/Star Wars/Anime Thing Zero X Sigma One Budakan people)(and I'm sure they're thinking "stupid youngster with his 80's toys! Our stuff is really old school and therefore better!" )
I start walking towards the toy section, and these two old dudes start beating feet and they run past me, and turn into the hot wheels section.
All the while I'm thinking "suckers, the joe variants sell for way more on eBay <nerd snort>".
I see what you did there.

it funny you bring this story up, the other night when i was at walmart, the manager who happens to be a toy collector was telling me storys aboiut hot wheels guys and i asked him what hot wheels were worth money, so he goes over and shows me that if the card says treasure hunt and is green to snag them up and i could get 30 bucks a piece or more for them, so now im on the hunt for hot wheels, lol trying to fund my joe collecting. but im not going to get crazy with it, just something else to look for when i cant find any joes.

LOL. Not all Hot Wheels Collectors act like them . I also happen to be one . I have been collecting them for 13 years now (1996-present). I dont have to resort to what the others do to get them. I started collecting joes in 1985 way before my hotwheels craze and have not stopped since. Both line of toys to me are great . So please think about what ya say about the Hotwheels guys in the future . Thanks Abe
