Why is it everytime I go to the store... Doesn't matter which one?! Just hit K-Mart, and Walmart and actually completed my wave 9, but I was also trying to get some vehicles (which I have listed in my needs FYI) and they had 5 between the 2 stores, and damn if the boxes weren't all beat to heck!!! plastic cut from cutting the shipping boxes open, dents ALLL over, and well they all looked as if a truck RAN THEM OVER! I like MIP and don't open my stuff so I want it NICE! and everything else in the isle (ALL other toy lines) looked ok... Does someone have it out for us collectors of GI-Joe. Is there a jealous rebel out there who wants to Terrorize the forces of Joe, and KILL our hopes of ever finding a MINT box in the store. I HAVE to go retail because I don't know anyone who works, and or stocks the shelves... I'm usually hard pressed to find anything of value, and have YET to locate a decent Variant, but COMMMMMON!!! Just stock it nicely, and don't manhandle my toys... GEEEEEZ!!
Which leads me to my other question... WHY is it eveytime I go to checkout (unless they have self checkout which is what I prefer) do they have to manhandle my boys with such ignorance. I mean REALY?! Are you in that much of a hurry you have to TRY, and bend the card all up... I went to K-Mart second, and decided I would this time ask to scan it myself... LOL... She looked @ me rather confused, but I simply told her I collect, and like my packaging to not get damaged in my shoping process... LOL... She gave me a confused look, then smiled and said sure no problem... Most of the time they get all huffy, and puffy like I'm taking up too much of their time... GET OVER YOURSELF! lol... I'll hopefully get my vehicles online so I @ least can blame the mailman when my boxes get damaged... UGH VENT VENT VENT!!! sorry... ~~HYDE~~ On another note... WOULD IT KILL TARGET TO PUT A STORE WITHIN @ LEAST 20 MINUTES OF ME so I can get exclusives?

Complain, complain, complain...
I'd say your best bet would be just to order from BBTS or EE. They can send you mib no problem. They package well so even their non-mint is usually mib to us mere mortals... Cute pic btw... oh, and the baby too |

I take it you don't work retail. A few things need to be understood about how many people touch these things before they even hit the floor.. a lot. Not only that but the distribution centers they go through, and to the people that work there... it's just another box that has to be loaded. Case in point, last week our store got in a revision case.. and it was crushed. Literally. The distribution guys decided to put a pallet of kitty litter on top (20#bags x 50.. do the math) of said Joe box and a couple of HDtv's. Clearly not the brightest thing to do. But to them, "I've got 3000 pieces to fit on this thing and this is where it's gonna go". I personally buy mine offline due to the limited number of "by the hour" employees that I can. BBTS is a good example of getting a good quality product in reasonable condition, even pick and choose your quality. Sub, standard, collector or what have you. Sure you don't get the hunt in the wild but you do get a nice package... unless UPS or equivalent decides to do their best interpritation of Wallyworlds distribution centers. BTW those tv's and joes had to be all claimed out, they never got to the floor. Our claims department had to take photos of all the damaged product and we lost tons of labor hours just because some yahoo wanted to hurry in the Dcenter.

couldn't be that they get damaged by the customers after they hit the floor?.
perhaps you should put together a complete marketing plan with a competition analysis, demographic profile, business opportunities and sales expectations for Target. I'm sure they would love to open a store by you if it was feasible. |

Most of us have experienced this frustration. Especially if you want to keep them MOC. There are people who go around and damage cards intentionally to prevent ebayers from buying them all up. What they don't realize is that with the way the economy is now that really hurts those of us who drive many miles to look for the MOC figures that we need to complete our collection. We then have to buy from ebay to get it and in the long run we end up making the ebayers more rich because the supply of MOC figures is even less. They would not have had my business if I could have bought the one at Target before DR. Cardbender decided to mess up my game.
I would absolutely contribute to a hit-list on these jokers. Let me know where to send the donation.

Why do we care if ebayers get rich again? Something, something, socialism, something.. that's all I remember.

Hey, I'm all for capitalism. However, they are the opposite of Capitalism. They usually have inside tracks to acquire the toys either as they come in or before they hit the shelves. That makes it impossible for some customers to obtain these products that HASBRO intended sold through their preferred distribution channel. Therefore they are thriving in a capitalistic society and so is HASBRO but the consumer is not. Capitalism is intended to drive prices down not up. Did that help?

And I would bet almost anything customers do just as much damage as the employees do. I have seen cardbenders. I have seen customers take things out of boxes and intentionally damage them. I have no clue what drives them to do this, but it is fact. |

If they don't have a self check-out, then I always ask the cashier to be gentle with the toys. Once a cashier at Target put huge creases in the two single carded wave 8 Joe's I was buying. After I paid for the Joe's, I walked directly to the customer service counter and got my money back.
