I'm thinking this might be the most fitting and probable convention set this year based on a couple of things as of late
Sgt. Slaughter and his Marauders vs. CobraLa! reason #1 - We just got Slaughter's Marauders from BBTS (Falcon, Spirit, Low Light & Barbeque and the Slaughter's Renegades (Taurus, Red Dog & Mercer). reason #2 - Just like last year when the club's exclusive figure was Dial-Tone and then they redid him for the convention set in Mission Brazil colors, the club is doing Footloose this year and why not redo him in Slaughter's Marauders colors to help finish off the team along with a Marauders Sgt. Slaughter & Mutt/Junkyard. reason #3 - The Slaughter's Renegades from the BBTS set go perfectly with the animated G.I.Joe movie, and this is where Lt. Falcon makes sense with that 7 pack set.....to go with the movie tie in, so why not the rest of the Marauders/animated movie "rookies" and CobraLa? Box Set breakdown - 1. Sgt. Slaughter (in Marauders colors) 2. Footloose (in Marauders colors) 3. Mutt/Junkyard (in Marauders colors) 4. Jinx (movie accurate ARAH style) 5. Big Lob (club did him for 2010 but in O-ring style, updated ME movie accurate style) 6. Cobra Commander (with interchangeable mutated snake head and lower arms, lower legs) 7. Golobulous 8. Pythona 9. Nemesis Enforcer 10. CobraLa Royal Guard 11. CobraLa Royal Guard 12. CobraLa Royal Guard 13. CobraLa Royal Guard 14. CobraLa Royal Guard 15. CobraLa Royal Guard Vehicle set #1 - Marauders Equilizer (based on Mauler that was so close a couple years ago or based on new modified HISS V5) Vehicle set #2 - Marauders Lynx (based on modified Hiss Scout) Attendee bonus - Marauders Armadillo Figure 2-pack set - Zartan & Destro (in arctic gear from movie) Figure 3-pack set - Buzzer, Torch & Ripper (in arctic gear from movie) Parachutte figure - Motor-Viper (in arctic gear from movie) So, who would want this set? I'm not a big CobraLa fan by any means but I'd get this set in a heartbeat!

Far, FAR too much new tooling required for this to be remotely realistic. Particularly on the Cobra-La front, unless you're expecting some really "stretching" kitbashes that don't particularly resemble their classic selves.

Maybe, Sgt. Slaughter was there last time GIJCC JoeCon was in New Orleans.
Only problem I see is, if Hasbro can't do a Sgt. Slaughter release due to legal issues. I don't know how the club would do it. Also Jinx is being released through the Subscription thing, if it ever takes off. Plus Hasbro will have Retaliation Jinx also. As much as many of us want a Cobra La set, I don't see GIJCC doing it. Too expensive for new molds. |

Even if this isn't possible, blah blah blah, I really like this idea. In fact, I love this idea, and I really wish it would happen. I agree there is too much new tooling involved, but who knows what Hasbro has tooling for?

I honestly think it's going to be Tiger Force. Quote:

Speaking of the convention when does the club usually reveal the con exclusives.

Agreed. Also hoping it's not this because I can't buy the set and Cobra-La is one of my biggest wants.
I honestly think it's going to be Tiger Force. I like these ideas though, and they'd be fairly easy to execute. But again, I'll be bummed if these figures were reduced to exclusives. |

I agree. Too much tooling but a great set.
