Could be they just ran out of the old card stock in the middle of the day and started using the non color changing cards to finish out the last of the color changing Zartan batch. Once they were out, the new figures were inserted.
As for the last number in the code... They all end in 2 right? Not just all Zartans but all the figures. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 10-28-2007 at 12:03 PM.. |

That would make sence concerning the Zartan cards (Especially if they were already planning to scrap the color change feature as for the last number, it is 2 on all GI Joes. I re-read Captain-DC's post on yojoe about it and it seems that the last number denotes how many lines of a certain product is being made that year. GI Joe has 2 probably because of the 25th line and the Sigma 6/Adventure line Here's the thread talking about it: http://forums.yojoe.com/showthread.php?t=51706 |

GI Joe has 2 probably because of the 25th line and the Sigma 6/Adventure line Here's the thread talking about it: http://forums.yojoe.com/showthread.php?t=51706 I don't think the last number has anything to do with the number of lines for G.I. Joe at all. I looked at a few of my Transformers Movie figures and they have 1 as the last number. There have been more than 1 line for Transformers this year (Classics, Movie, Titaniums, etc.). The three Star Wars figures I got a few weeks back end in 3. I believe that the number stands for the brand. 1 is Transformers, 2 is G.I. Joe, and 3 is Star Wars. Just to check my theory I checked an Urban Assault Ruination I have in my closet and it has 1 at the end of it. It seems like the last number is the brand which to me makes since because of all the toys Hasbro makes that the production number would make reference to the brand also. Edit: My theory doesn't seem to hold up either. I checked Energon Unicron, Titanium G.I. Joe Megatron, Classics Optimus Prime, and Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal and all have the number 1 at the end. During the years these figures were released they all had more than one line for Transformers. Where my theory falls apart is G.I. Joe. I checked the Toys R Us Gold Rattler and the Viper Lockdown set and both had 1 at the end. It doesn't make since that it would be the number of lines for a brand or the brand itself so there must be another meaning.

Well in the thread I referenced it was said that GI Joe used to have a 1 at the end of the production number and most older Star Wars figures ended in 2. Perhaps you're right about it denoting which brand of toys and not how many lines are in each brand
The last number being a factory number had crossed my mind as well. I have no idea how to find out if that's true or not. Hopefully we'll be able to figure it all out Either way I'm still a bit confused on the last number, it seems it's really only used for Hasbro's records and doesn't have much of an influence on the date |

I thought factory number too... then I thought maybe just a particular section of a factory or production line. Line one, TFs, Line two GI Joe... and so forth... this would explain why the numbers shift through the years. Star Wars is in a sort of "slump" for over all sales so it might've been pushed back to line 3 while the others take the primary lines.
Ah well, not that most important number in the code I'm certain. |

Well I just got confirmation from Captain-DC that the date stamp/production number is imprinted into the card at the same time the bubble is sealed to the card. So it looks like the theory of there being a surplus of color changing Zartans after the color chang logo cards ran out is probably right

So I have a Zartan with no mention of color change on the card front, a seasick gren face and a product code of 72502. However putting the figure (in card) in sunlight showed no change.
