I've been collecting the 25th line since it began but have not been fortunate to see the people stocking the pegs till now (normally I found the product already there).
Well, I was amazed as to how small those boxes are, the ones that hold the singles. And to make matters worse there is no padding between cards or the box. No wonder why cards get destroyed while in transit.

well if the joes were made out of glass they'd be surrounded by styrafoam. but there just cardboard, and plastic. nothing really fragile. sure we collectors want MINTY product but to any retailer its just toys.

Hasbro doesn't sell them as collectors items, they sell them as toys and toys are supposed to be opened up and played with.

why would there be padding?
their toys not antiques or anything of value. size of boxes is directly related to the value of the product and the cost of shipping. |

I was surprised at the small box of a case of Joes also. I'm a little surprised now they haven't increased the box size and are sending 12-16 to a store instead of the case of 8. I thought that size was because, at first, they didn't know if the line would be successful or not.

Man, if you've ever unloaded freight from the back of a truck, you'd know how much stuff gets destroyed before it even reaches the store. I worked at Lowe's for a while, and I don't know what kind of monkeys that had loading the truck, but we'd often find heavy stuff like floor tiles stacked on top of boxes of light bulbs. Or picks and sledgehammers thrown randomly up on the very top, where you can't see, so when you pull something out, you nearly get killed. Of course, Walmart and Target and TRU typically don't have as much heavy freight as a place like Lowe's would, but there's still plenty that could pancake a plastic bubble and it's contents.

This is nothing new. This is how action figures have been packaged and ship for years. They aren't going to take on the added cost of "care packaging" so the minority collectors can walk away with mint boxes/cards.
