I mean why knock a person for calling a retail store to ask if something is in stock its not like he is calling that person at home. God forbid an employee does their job, I have had most retail store employees be very helpful in my quest for the exclusives, but some act like your bothering them. So unless your calling an employee at home then why fault the customer for calling the store to ask if they have an item to purchase. Wow I can see how that is annoying doing your job what a bummer for that Target employee. |

Bottom line is that employee is in customer service so their job is to help the customer, they took the job if they don't like it they should quit. I mean if he called everyday or every other day or once a week it shouldn't matter that employees job is to answer that customers store related questions honestly and do his or her job which is customer service, not very hard. I can think of about 10 other jobs that are much harder then the one in question.

Wow I can see how that is annoying doing your job what a bummer for that Target employee. Another thing . . often times the person answering the phone is NOT THE PERSON who actually goes and checks the shelves. I can't tell you how many times I would be told to help a customer on Line 1 or what not about such and such an item and when I start to speak to them they would say, "Oh, well somebody else is already helping me." WRONG, "somebody else" just answers the phone and passes it on to me. So it could have been possible that the woman working the counter got a call from the stock boy who walked over there and the stock boy called back and was like, Is it that SAME GUY again?! We already told him we didn't have any?" so she laughed. Just saying. |

I used to work retail and if some guy called up asking every day for the same toy I'd think he were a psycho. And this is coming from a toy collector. I don't do that and there is no reason that as a toy collector anyone has to. Patience is a virtue. You can only walk to the back and see the shelf is empty as an employee so many times before you realize that it is a waste of time. Especially when many places only get a truck in once a week. Of course if the woman had never once looked then that is an entirely different matter. The people who have the "it's their job" attitude don't appear to have ever worked retail or they would have some pity.

Just saying. no stocking hot wheels during the day, no pulling toys for customers. no holding items that were in demand or collectable I never followed the rules but hey they were there lol. and yeah, the idea is that a person should do their job. but customers seem to get this "god" persona alot of times. They dont realize that the regular employee doesnt give a rats ass if the customer is happy or satisfied. In fact, if they dont come back, even better! it ruins the store managers yearly bonus (dependant on store performance) and its one less person an employee has to deal with on their shift. Most people at retail, that is their goal. To minimize the amount of customers they have to deal with. That was why i loved backroom. no customers to deal with, and first pick at toys when they arrived. I did make it my mission to help kids find a toy they were looking for though. any others who worked retail, know what im talking about? Last edited by Dark 5cythe; 09-16-2008 at 05:01 AM.. |

I think Target as a whole needs to clean up their act if they want to be a respectable retailer. They also need to clean the toy aisle, it’s a mess too. Quote:
