I tried to get a couple Targets around here to hold some for me, no dice. Must be a regional thing. Or a matter of finding an employee that just doesn't care anymore....

It's fun that I used to live down the street from their Corporate Office and to see the looks on a Manager's face when I mention that I will be contacting them and offhandedly talk about the area that the C.O. is in and how I used to drive by it all the time. Or better yet I could have an old friend deliver the complaint in person, what was your name again?

I think it's all just part of the normal curve of humanity:
Approximately... 2% of people are awesome. 14% of people are pretty good. 34% of people are OK. 34% of people are kind of shitty. 14% of people are very shitty. 2% of people are utterly worthless. You're much more likely to run into someone who is just OK or worse. OK means four out of seven days of the week, they don't suck. But three days they do, and chances are those are three days they go to work. It's all a gamble, a gamble, a gamble... Last edited by Barefoot Jedi; 09-16-2008 at 01:45 AM.. |

So everyday for the last few weeks I have called target right at eight the days I don't go. Everytime they are rude to me but the put on hold to say they're checking and then say no sorry. So today I called on the way there and it's the same deal. She puts me on hold and leaveme on hold so long that I get there walk in and watch her. She is just standing at the desk for a few minutes laughing. I watch her pick up the phone and tell me sorry she walked back there and there aren't any. So I walk to toys and what do I find a rattler and conquest just sitting on the shelf. I wonder how many times they lied to me. I hate target now.
TARGET SUCKS! The reasons why Target sucks are as follows: 1.) Your story is the premier point, so I won't steal your thunder by re-telling it. 2.) They lie about everything. They lie about how much stock is in the back, they lie about how many items we are allowed to buy at one time, they lie about why the prices are spiked to 7.99 (which brings me to point number 3). 3.) Their prices are horrendously high. 7.99 for a Buzzer figure? Don't make me laugh! 4.) They RENEGED on a coupon deal that was supposed to give us 5 bucks off every 25 we spend in their stores. What better way for Target to give customers the middle finger than to refuse a A LEGALLY OBTAINED DOCUMENT that Target AUTHORIZED for the customer? 5.) And the coup de gras as to why TARGET SUCKS: Target won't allow The Salvation Army to collect voluntary donations for the poor and homeless at Christmas! That's right. They banned the bell-ringers from their front doors NATIONWIDE, so if you are alright with the poor getting snubbed, then by all means, shop at Target. Wal-Mart rules. Online Retailers rule. TARGET SUCKS. |

i called saturday after checking online and seeing that my local target supposedly had the planes, to make sure this was true before wasting gas to discover they have nothing, and was told they had 11 in stock. that sounded weird, but i thought, "i'm going up there anyway." so i went and they actually had a good selection, just no planes. liars. this weekend i will make a trip up there, call while i'm in the store and see if they actually look.

That bit about the salvation army isn't true at every location, I live in south cali and the one in Northridge on Balboa has a Salvation Bell Ringer from Black Friday till Christmas Eve, also when I lived in Jersey they had one at the Clifton Location. Though I'll agree alot of them have that distraction free sign posted. However, honestly this may make me sound terrible but I don't really like pan-handlers in front of stores, I donate plenty of money per year, plus tons of clothing to the SA, if I want to donate I know how to get in touch with them, I don't need to be brow beated into it.
Target has a corporate NATIONWIDE policy of NO SALVATION ARMY KETTLES, which costs the charitable group several million (official estimates as high as 9 million USD) in voluntary donations each Christmas. While I did read an article about some joint entity between TSA and Target, Target yields a pittance of 1 million USD in donations directly to TSA. Yes, a million is a pittance compared to nine million. There is unfortunately no measured data readily available to prove that this one million dollar donation is greater than what the kettles COULD HAVE collected annually at Target stores NATIONWIDE. The only thing I can do is wait for a response from my emails to them. I am willing to wager that Target's banishment has cost TSA to lose at least 20-30 million USD (I am intentionally underestimating here, potential estimated loss of 36 million per TSA) over the past 4 years (TSA was banned in 2004), and this factors in the paltry 4 million in Target's direct donation sum (four million over four years). Bottom line: If a company banishes the Salvation Army kettles and gives them a pittance instead, then they lose my business instantly. This is why I also refuse to shop at Best Buy, and spend my money freely at Circuit City and Wal-Mart each Christmas. I had forgotten all about that.
Another reason why Target is a waste of time. Didn't know that about Best Buy though. I will stick to Circuit City too from here on out. Sab |
