i ordered a wave 1 flint a while back from hasbro and the bubble was only glued on one side. it opens like a book. the card is mint, even where the glue was suppose to be. oh and i think the original poster just wanted to make some big story out of this...just for fun. to entertain. thats what it sounds like to me

It could have melted off from the heat in the trailer during shipping. I used to unload freight at Lowe's and in the midst of summer, those son of a guns get H-O-T.
There's a hundred different scenarios that could have unfolded here. The important part is that it just doesn't matter that much in the larger scheme of things. |

I wish mine came off so easily. That's part of what I hate about cards. At least Marvel Legends you can cut around the clamshell, and the Masterpiece (and original Alternator) Transformers didn't require you to completely destroy the box and box art to remove the figures...
The Comic packs are much cleaner opens but the artwork on them sucks since you don't get much. I love the card art, it's a shame you lose some of it through the stupid plastic bubbles. I'd never attempt to re-sell an opened carded figure as MOSC, but I don't mind buying TFs that have been opened and put back in the box so long as they're in good condition. That's the hardest part about keeping a set of MOSC Joes... The awesome sculpts locked away in the shell, and the card art hidden by wavy plastic and glue. |

Yeah, I've done similarly before... Since I'm keeping a MOSC set as well, I only open the ones I want to open, and I try my best to grab a dinged up card as my opener version.. Some figures, though, I only have one of, and occasionally wish to open them and then put them back inside. Haha.
In the case of B.A.T.s and the like though, or 25th-carded figures on the foil cards, if the cards aren't SEVERELY warped or creased/dented, I feel terrible opening the mint cards though... But then there's the sigh of relief at the end when you've freed a new favorite toy! Haha. Although even leaving the plastic ring on the cards still isn't as clean as I'd like them... I also wish they didn't have that stupid colored rectangle behind the figures, and it was just card art. "WHAT DOES BARBEQUE'S LEFT FOOT LOOK LIKE?!?!?" Nobody will ever know. |
