Personally I think it's stupid and confusing to re-start the wave count at the start of each year. I think it should just be kept going from wave one in 2007 to wave whatever in 200whenever.

yep, that's been annoying for a while now. I vote for one single numerical scheme, no restart.

Keep it simple. I always get confused when I see seeled cases at walmart. Takes me forever to figure out what's in a wave 5 08 case.

My feelings exactly. With the start over system, simplicity is thrown out as you can no longer say I have a wave 4 Cobra Commander because that could be the 5-pack single release, or the cartoon one with MASS crystals, depending on what year, you're talking about. But if you said I have a wave 8 CC. Then you know exactly what one it is (That is if you're up to date with what came out in what wave. If you're not, then I suppose this doesn't really matter to you any way )

not to mention that it's confusing enough figuring out which wave is the first one of the year seeing as how they aren't necessarily released at the begining of the year

Keep it simple. Wave 1 to xx. No need to confuse the masses.

I prefer a restart each year. WV1 '07, WV1 '08, etc is fine with me. They have to label it that way for their purposes too. Can you imagine them going back through their files trying to figure out which wave was in what year? So instead if a nicely organized file system:
GIJOE_25th_WV1_08 > GIJOE_25th_WV1_08_SnowJob They would have: GIJOE_25th_WV5 > GIJOE_25th_WV5_SnowJob They would have no way of keeping track of what product came out in what year, which is extremely important in having a product database. You could argue that they could put the date after the wave designation in the continual numbering, but it's usually more practical to have a restart every year. Plus, it's more for them that it is for us.

Agree with GGPike. The continuous count has been okay so far...but the more waves that get released, the more difficult it's going to be to keep track of them. Hell, waves 10, 11, and 12 seem to be all blending together.
ARAH are referred to by years with no problem. In the long run, it will probably be best to do the same with 25th. |

It's the same line, so use the same numbers. Knuckleheads.
