If you had to choose between the complete 1982-1986 loose RAH carded figures all mint complete w/weapons or the complete MOMC Joe 25th anniversary and resell value not being an issue, which would you choose?

id go 25th
Even tho i have alot of respect for the old joes and the line up of the Original line is massive so u cant compare But im a display kinda guy and i feel the 25 th are perfect for that and the charectars just look alot better in most cases with the exception to the few

Do you mean loose ARAH joes or carded ones? You say both in your post. Either way, hands down, I would choose ARAH in a heartbeat!! I like 25th well enough, but for every one that looks nice, there's just as many that look really, really bad, IMO. I think many of the 25th joes' proportions are a bit out of wack, and the way the jaw lines meet the necks on most figures, especially from the profile view, bugs me to no end!!! I love ARAH proportions, except perhaps for the many large heads, and I can't dismiss the the nostalgia factor, of course!

Ever since the 25th figures were released, that's all I collect. But, if you mean the complete mint on card figures from 1982-1986 or everything mint on card 25th anniversary to present, I'd definitely choose the old school ones. I'd never sell or open them if I had them. The nostalgia factor is stronger than the monetary factor.

25th style. The ARAH don't display well (IMO) because of their mongloid 80's sculpting and o-ring induced scoliosis.... But they were cool to play with as a kid

25th, thank you veddy much. Better proportions, better sculpting, better accessories, more articulation, properly engineered joints, so no more rubber band, and closer to true 1/18 scale.
I respect the originals, and I've got a lot of fond childhood memories of them, but I far preffer the 25th versions. |

That's a really tough call, for nostalgic reasons.
However, I think I'd have to say 25th. The improved designs and articulations make it so that I'm actually posing and displaying these figures. Where as if I had the whole ARAH line, that would be sweet, but I'd probably just put most of them away somewhere. |

I'd go with the Real American Hero figures, mainly because the main characters tend to be the better figures as well as everyone but 2 in the timeframe you mentioned had the same articulation.
The 25th is strange that way, Duke is an awful awful figure with elbows that can't move, yet the minor character that is the Hiss Driver is the best in the goddamn line
