I think for it's time, G.I. Joes from the original line are far superior to most other toys out there, in terms of sculpt, range-of-motion, detail, EXPANSIVE line of characters (are you kidding me? To be a MOSC collector of the entire series? Good Lord, my hat's off to those rare few who have managed that), and points-of-articulation, old Joe 3-3/4" figures STILL beat most figures out there today, save for Marvel Legends, and other select lines.
In fact, they've been the basis for most figures' design since then, am I not correct? You can see the Joe ARAH figure influence on most modern "action figure" toys. They were genius designs for their time, I put them up there with Legos and Transformers as my favorite childhood toys that STILL succeed today.
25th? I love it as well, in fact, I think the designs are far superior, as is articulation (I agree, range-of-motion is different that articulation, and that did suffer for a time). A fantastic update to the line we loved.
It's like asking who you love more, your wife/girlfriend now, or the woman she was when you first fell in love. I'd like to think for most she's gotten better with time. (That's not a good analogy for some, but an easy way to "generally" put it.)

When I bring up the durability of RAH over the 25th, I'm looking at as a kid would. I was tough on my Joes when I was little and aside from the thumbs and crotch, they were great and held up well. I don't think the 25th line would stand half the abuse the RAH ones could.
Both lines are great, but I guess for me it's somewhat of a nostalgia factor also that has me preferring the RAH line more than anything.

25th in spades. i love the old school, but the new ones are better in almost every regard.
My 25th Most Wanted List:
1. Tunnel Rat <-CHECK! 2. General Hawk (v2)<-CHECK! 3. Leatherneck <-CHECK(kinda...)
4. Jinx 5. Dusty <-CHECK! 6. Snow Serpent <-CHECK! 7. Tele-Viper <-CHECK(kinda...)
8. Falcon<-CHECK (kinda...) 9. Footloose <-CHECK! 10. Recondo <-CHECK!
9 down, 1 to go ~ but i really want a new Leatherneck and Falcon

The original... because that's my childhood.
The 25th looks awesome... no doubt... but doesn't hold any emotional value to me.
I feel the same about the original He-man, and the new line coming out.

I'd take RAH, mainly because it had more characters and vehicles. When 25th gets around to re-releasing all the classic characters i'll be happy though. I prefer the variety of RAH, but the style of 25th.
