I'm actually starting to see an increase in Joe product in my local stores. My Target had a nice, full section of single figures (none I needed, but still..), comic packs, & vehicles. Same with the TRU in my area.
Could Hasbro's promise of fuller shelves in late summer/early fall be coming true?

I have plenty of stores in my area(6 Super WM's, 5 Target's(2 Super), 3 K-Mart's, and 1 TRU) and I've found and bought everything released-except the DVD packs as they're warming the shelves. I know when my stores restock, so I don't waste the time or gas looking for new Joe's. I'm not really burned out as much as I'm bored with Joe's now. Which isn't a bad thing as I also collect SW and now that they have new stuff out, that brings back a little a fun to go searching again.

ok, well, if your running out of room and don't want to do like a closet/attic/ pay for storage space thing, its time to prioritize and sell some of your collection. I know exactly what you're talking about though. I've been piecing off my simpsons collection one by one to get money to pay for new joe stuff, and thats just at retail price.
I've come up with this though, Star Wars I went from buying like 25 figures a year to buying 12, Joes will be all but done for me when the new Movie comes out. JLU can only do so many characters, plus their distribution is shitastic right now, Transformers has been getting worse and worse, first that horrendous movie line which with the exception of Arcee and Bumblebee I bought none of, the animated line . . . well, you know. The Universe I'm very selective about. Can't wait to see whats in store for Trans 25th Anniversary. And finally I've been reduced to the He-man of the month club at MattyCollector.com.
So once Joe goes on Hiatus, I don't see my self buying scores of toys as I've been doing. However the expense is still there, I'll just have more room. All good things eventually come to an end, unless ofcourse they revamp the Thundercats line? Heh Heh ;)

Every time I get close to burn out, I hit a major haul. In order to save myself the feeling of failure when I don't find anything, I ration what I do find to cover the times when there is nothing and give me something to open.

I think it also depends on your life style too. For me, the less obligations (S/O or children which I don't have) allows more time and freedom to go about what you want and when you want.
I enjoy the hunt and the satisfaction of paying retails than some higher mark-ups second market prices.

Take a break, re-evaluate how you feel about things and come back to it if that's what you decide to do. Otherwise walk away without regret.
It's what I do with almost everything I get tired of, and it's helped me get rid of a lot of habits/activities that I only realized after quitting that I didn't enjoy as much as I should to devote the time and effort I was giving them.

I walk 2 miles every night just to see the same peg-warmers on the shelves as the night before, and I am still not burnt out. There's no burn out in me, there's only drive, er well...walk. But I tell you what, I don't miss a day and I'm in shape and I got it all.
I'm a real Cobra, burnouts for wussies!
Stay tough, and keep driving your little car to get the figures you want... just know that CobraVampire is hitting the mean streets every night... and he loves it!

I was thinking about starting a thread just like this the other day. After a five hour toy hunt to three different cities and finding only the leftovers from Wave 9 I started to think how burned out I was feeling. My town has only one Wal-Mart that sucks to say the least. So I'm forced to go looking in not so nearby cities. I'm an army builder, too and this B.A.T. and SS situation is killing me. I'm wanting about 25 B.A.T.s and 12 or 13 SS. I CAN'T FIND EVEN ONE!!!!!! When I was younger and single I could make these midnight trips to Wal-Mart and the early morning trips to Target. I'm married now with four kids : two kids in school, one child who is autistic and needs special attention, and a 1 year old, plus work and I'm going back to school. So I can't compete with these guys who can get to stores first. BUT....I'm not whining!!!! I WILL PERSEVERE!!!!

Early on I really enjoyed looking for/finding joes, especially when the first 25th waves came out and stores actually carried them a little more consistently across the board. But with stores seeming to only get every other wave, and the big gaps in one store getting waves versus other stores. I have gone back to buying online, less stress, less driving and I get my figures. I'll still stop in the toy isle when I'm shopping just to see what has come in maybe pick up an extra figure and let my fellow collectors know if there is anything new so they don't have to drive all over town.

I don't typically go out of my way to look for stuff. If I'm going someplace and there's a Target nearby, I'll swing in and check. That's pretty much how I've been going at it for awhile.
