lol Tunnel Rat got owned haha.
NEways, Honestly I dont see the 25th ever being worth much man.... The new toys suffer from the fact that 1. They are remakes of originals. 2. The old ones are worth a lot so now that there are new ones being produced everyone is buying extras and keeping them in the box. 3. The old guys were very rarely collected, they were usually played with, this makes them rare in mint condition, but now old those people are older and have become collectors. So like I said..... I dont see these figures ever being worth 100's of dollars no matter how great the condition. Then again I could be totally wrong, who knows. Also.... these new toys have made the old school Joes collector value drop because people would rather spend 7 bucks on a visor cobra commander than 30 on an original visor Cobra Commander. So maybe now is a good time to get into the Vintage market.... who knows!

Buy what looks cool to you and what you like. Don't do it for any other reason.
I suggest buying the new DVD packs that just came out, watch the dvd's, get familiar with some characters, read comics, asks questions. There is no such thing as a dumb GI Joe question, though you get some a-hole responses. If you are truly interested and have questions, most GI Joe collectors will go out of their way to help you. For older Joes check out Yo Joe! | The 3 3/4" G.I. Joe Collector's Site or buy some of the various guides like Mark Bellamo's Ultimate GI Joe Guide. This is probably the best site i've seen for newer GI Joe discussion and news. Like others said it may seem daunting at first, but once you put your feelers out you'll be a Joe-Pro in no time. |

Today most items are variants and exclusives being worth the $$ long run. I have boxes full of 95/97 SW stuff too but I still like them just no room to display them. All my newer stuff seems to go in the closet and vintage stuff is on display. It's fun though to have something that years later wil be worth something and was a 'smart" buy at the time like I happened to buy a SE w/ black timber from smalljoes.com for 7.99 or whatever and look what it is worth now. I wouldn't sell it but it is nice thinking what I paid for it and what it is worth.
Like in the 90's I bought Star Trek Barclay figure for 5.99 seeing that it was limited to 3000 pieces. I ended up trading it at a SW convention for a 12 back Darth Vader MOMC. So I ended up getting a 12 back Vader for 5.99 I basically buy 80's carded for display and all the single carded waves as I already completed most of my 82-90 singles and they are all displayed in 48 Slot Acrylic Cases. If you don't enjoy the "hunt" and are too lazy to drive around everywhere like me though pre-order stuff.

Seems very odd. If you want rare, than just go after the variants and the SDCC exclusives.
Snake Eyes with black Timber Yellow Stalker Shipwreck with Shark Tattoo Gung Ho with Anchor hat SDCC PDD Destro gold and silver SDCC Cobra Commander blue and black There arent any rare ones out right now on the pegs. The case holds at least of each figure from that wave. I dont understand why you want just rare ones when you are not even a GI Joe collector. Did you play with or watch GI Joe when you were younger? Why not get the ones that were your favorite characters? 50 years from now are you really going to want to look at some figure that some internet group told you was the figure of the minute or would you rather get one that you want?
