Not for Consumers.
Not for the US And the Number is pretty high in comparison to the original run of these. I will not be making anymore responses in this thread for the near future, I have a hurricane to prepare for. |

Whether or not there are new Gold PDD figures on the market there is still the issue of the date code. "Real deal" collectors will still shell out money for the ones that were produced last year (I'm almost willing to bet). So what if there are new ones being made. They will still be rare and hard to acquire for most folks and the figures have enough subtle differences (i.e. date code and warning color) between them and the original to mean that the originals from SDCC will still hold a significant value long after this little "whatever" has blown over.

Polyphenus: the warning color on my 81921 Gold PDD is flush with the background. Yet my Silver PDD which I got last year right after the convention does have the black box behind the warning label. From my research I think the older Wave 1 and the 07 SDCC cards had this black box. It appears it was later corrected with most recent waves.
Like I said before, I have an uncut proof sheet (from the 07 SDCC) which shows both PDDs and all of WV1 with the different black box on the cards. It would be a good idea if people checked the warning label is flush black or a different shade on their older WV1s and their PDDs . Lets see what we come up with. |

I've learned one thing from all this... If I ever release a toy that every one wants, I'm gonna mass produce it. I'm talking about three or four warehouses full. But no one's gonna know how many are made. If I have to, factory workers will start having accidents... which'll add to the hype cause I'll let a rumor out that the figures are cursed.
Then I'm gonna build up so much hype that everyone's gonna have to have one. After that, I'm gonna sell them through my website in limited quantity. Then I'm gonna disappear... cause that'll raise the hype and price even more. And one the price is right, start trickling the rest of my inventory out on eBay one or two cases at a time under various accounts over years of effort. And I'll laugh knowing the lot of you are putting my great grandchildren through college... one "ultra rare" case at a time. |
