It is possible these new Gold PPD were made specifically for sale in the Asia markets. When the Nemesis Prime Convention figures were made they were also packaged and sold in stores all across the Asia Markets and Australia. They still had the same packaging as the convention exclusives as well as the Comic Con stickers on them. I got one from HTS and 1 from a seller over seas and there is no distinguishable difference between the 2 packages. So it is possible that these new PPD's will be released in Retail somewhere in Asia or Australia but not be made available in the U.S. Either way it will still drive down the prices of the current Gold PPD's. Just because they are discontinued in the United States, doesn't mean that they are discontinued in another country. Lego products are notorious for being discontinued in the U.S. but still continue to be sold in other countries long after the U.S. Discontinuation date.
possible, i was in singapore last year and all the star wars 30th collection , episode 3, and 2006 saga collection exclusives were sold on the pegs. |

Response (Kerry Bronson)08/18/2008 09:27 AM Hi Anthony,
Thank you for your response. Please be assured we have shared your questions with the appropriate department. We will respond to you, as soon as we receive any information. We thank you, in advance, for your patience That was the response that I got after sending my question to them again. Hopefully someone will give a real answer but at least it seems a representative actually answered. I will admit that the pictures look a little fishy. I also sent them a link to the post if they even check those type of things. Last edited by MAJOR BLOOD; 08-18-2008 at 10:57 AM.. |

The re release for the asian market is a good theroy. I ordered a blue SDCC from a guy in singapore off ebay and when I got it it had a small sticker on the back of it, that apparently the ones picked up at SDCC and HTS dont have. I will get pics of it tonight to show.
here is what the sticker says. Anyone who got the "new" case 8 destros can say if it has the same one Distributed By: HASBRO TOY (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is there really a significant market for Joes in Asia? not to mention the fact that Canada gets generic International cardbacks but Asia wouldn't, they would get the same cardbacks as the US releases. you couldn't be more international than Asia. the Asia market theory seems like a stretch.

its possible though, like i said i was in singapore last year, saw a lotf of starwarsshop.com and comicon exclusives star wars on the pegs out there. You would be suprised on the amount of things they have on the pegs out there. Lots of stuff here people pay good moeny for just warms the shelves there. |

Not really, most toys for some reason have a shelf life in Asia. I have seen many Star Wars and Transformer toys coming for Asia and as said before many of the pricey exclusives end up being sold in stores. If Joe is a s big as you guys say it is then it is in stores in Asia.

Response (Kerry Bronson)08/18/2008 02:56 PM Hi Anthony,
Thank you for your patience. This figure was done as a one time only ComicCon exclusive and is not being remade. The original number in the upper corner should say 63466/63775 asst. We want to assure you that we are dedicated to maintaining quality products and service. We hope you and your family will continue to enjoy our products for many years to come. Again, thank you for contacting us. This is a response I got from the same consumer affairs person. What number are they referring to? I asked them about the stamp near the file card. Is one a product code and the other a date stamp? |
