I had a crazy thought the other day while talking to a buddy. He happens to be a huge Star Wars collector, and we were talking about the build a droid concept in the new Legacy collection. I mentioned that Marvel Legends really got the ball rolling with this, and other brands and companies have followed suit. We both lamented that it would be cool if Joe did something like this, but how? Then it hit me: Build A BAT!
How cool would it be if in a given wave, you picked up all figures and each one came with a piece of a BAT? I(we) figured that it would come in six parts: head, two arms, two legs, main body. Maybe even include a different attachment with each arm. I think this would be an awesome idea, and one that Hasbro would be crazy not to implement into the line. Mind you, it wouldn't have to be wave after wave, but I think it'd be a cool one wave type of thing. Maybe even store exclusive, who knows? Let me know what you guys think.

They should do it where theres one figure with an important part of the BAT is only packed in every other case and costs 40 bucks.

They should pack that important part with the single carded B.A.T.s so nobody would ever find them except that one guy in town who has to have 500 B.A.T.s.

Worst idea ever. That’s all I need is to spend damn near 50 bucks just to own a figure that I should be able to buy anywhere. Don't we spend enough money as it is on these Joe’s LoL. Besides I doubt Hasbro's gonna give up any of that army building money.

There's no way Hasbro will deny the army building. We are already getting the CG, Green Shirts, Desert and Artic sets.
I'm surprise we have not gotten the Cobra trooper set. Not counting the Night Watch set. |

No no nooo.
I'm not buying any Clone Wars figures because of the stupid 'build a bot' thing. I don't want them all but don't want a drawer full of useless robot bits either. It's bad enough I have to buy a complete set of classic DR WHO figures to build the "K-1 Robot". Who wants a Colin Baker figure??? (not that anyone will have a clue what I'm on about)

The SNAKE armor would be cool.Maybe the MASS device is just a test run for built-a-whatever.

This idea does seem somewhat redundant since we already have a BAT available. They should just give us the BAT troop builder already.
Plus the Joe figure assembly does not lend itself well to a "Build a Figure" set-up. I don't want them changing the model types for one figure. [SDCC Commanders excluded]. Though I could honestly see Hasbro giving us the two halves of the upper torso and then expecting us to put the arms in and gluing it together ourselves. You know, to reduce cost. |
