From the thread "Will they release SKYSTRIKER", it has been learned that the mold is FUBAR due to FUNSKOOL cleaning it with saltwater. Way to go Funskool.
Its obvious that this is an iconic aircraft from the RAH line, and it has been questioned in the Halls of Hasbro will we see its re-release. Many a comment has been made but ultimately, its a No. Ive looked at the 25TH ANNIVERSARY SKYSTRIKER custom and yes, it looks great, not only that, its quite simple to take apart. So my question is this, would you want Hasbro to release a new mold of the skystriker but kept simpler like the ELITE OPS/PTE type of aircraft or would you want EO/PTE to do an aircraft of the F-14 variety with a swing wing, flip down landing gear, missiles and two seat cockpit? I think Hasbro should really hear from the Joe fans whether or not they want this aircraft and if they should be the ones to put it out. Im asking you to make a simple post of yes or no and your reason/s why. I aint gonna lie, I love the skystriker but Im really impressed by the simplicity that EO/PTE has done, should Hasbro blow this off, I think someone with some cajones should step up to the plate. Ive compared the F-18 with the XP-14, the F-18 is somewhat bigger, but I still see this aircraft as totally doable and critical to the 25th anniv. line. I can live with a simpler version, but to me, there is no reason why this cant be done other than Hasbro really not wanting to go there. A BMF and AT TE have been made and it might cost Hasbro considerably in the long and short run. I dont mind supporting a good line and GI JOE is a good line. TRU could easily do an exclusive with a new simpler mold, accessories notwithstanding, I think it would ring out to Joes all over for a chance to get back what is iconically GI JOE RAH. Dear Hasbro I ask that you put out the SKYSTRIKER XP-14F, even if you have to redo the mold, a simpler mold would still ring loud and true to the fans. This aircraft symbolizes the RAH line and NEEDS to be in the line. Hey Power Team Elite...are you listening? Last edited by SgtMajor; 08-08-2008 at 10:26 PM.. |

I think the Skystriker would be likely to be made. Of course a retooled like the other vehicles. Yet, keep it in line with the original.
All depends on the demand level, popularity, sales, how well the movie and the cartoon line do as well. The Skystriker would definitely be a hot sale. Personally, I would get at least 10 of it. Maybe a price point of $30 bucks?? |

After seeing the F-22 Raptor fly at EAA Airventure last weekend, forget the Skystriker, I want a Raptor! Of course it would have to be a combination of the never produced 2 seat trainer along with the never produced swing wing carrier version... in fact it wouldn't look all that different from a Skystriker in that configuration... except the missiles and bombs would be internal rather than on the wings.

if hasbro gonna do the Raptor (F-22), cool. but as long as they don't have to worry about licensing and all that from Lockheed Martin & Boeing.

I would love something similar to the original, or, if it can be updated well, do it. Only problem with that is we need someplace for all of these planes to land (hint hint). We're already getting a conquest, it'd be great to see more jets, especially that one. First plane I ever owned. And the last....

Vectored thrust all the way for a 'modern' Joe jet now I think.

Just an FYI, the Skystriker actually fits into the same size box as the F-18 Hornet by PTE/ELITE OPS. Does anyone have any idea how to get in touch with Hasbro-like an actual rep or possibly Power Team Elite? Ive tried to find the ELITE OPERATIONS/POWER TEAM ELITE site and Im coming up with zilch.

they need to remake it, if hasbro was willing to make new molds for the moccasin and sky hawk i dont understand why thye wouldnt drop the loot for a way cooler vehicle.
the skystriker is a must in the gijoe line and it would be nice to have it back since they have never remade it since back in the day. |
