as i open new figs, i have decided to post an "opinionated review" of each figure...this is
"The Jeaux Report" greetings joes...thanks for the positive words on the first Jeaux Report and the encouragement to do another...and here it is... today's review is our first Dreadnok offering, BUZZER! i love dreadnoks, especially the first three. i dont think Buzzer was my first when i was a kid, that was Torch, but Buzzer was certainly not far behind. Now, understand, i really dont have a clear remembrance of the original figure's outfit or accessories and im just too lazy to look it up, so some of my comments may seem like ive never owned him...HEY! i was like 11yrs OLD! i love this figure...period. the sculpt is great. i like the uneveness of his outfit...one shoulderpad, one glove and one sleeve. i love the backpack and gas can. and im glad he has an actual chainsaw this time around. his face is great, very menacing but it still conveys the intelligence that his file card speaks of. joints are fine. and of the few Buzzers ive seen, i have not seen any real issues with paint apps. but is it all roses? never is...here come the tears. not too bad though... a really big issue of mine with all figures is straight weaponry/accessories. ive been known to buy multiples to mix and match a good paint job in one pack, with a straight accessory in another. and sometimes i do the candleflame+ice water thing. but id really rather not have to do that. the issue here, crooked chainsaw blades...on all ive seen. ive managed to display him at an angle where the bend isnt prevalent. not a big fan of the flames either. it comes across as if hasbro was slyly doing blood. his ponytail vs. his backpack are an issue too. they just wont co-exist when his head is facing straight ahead...resulting in his head having to be permanently turned so his rubberbanded coif will miss his pack. and speaking of the backpack...once again the peg is a tad too short and just doesnt seem very solid against the molded straps on his back. it does stay in however, it just feels like you may want to not grab Buzzer by his backpack to move him. so, on the 1-5 Yo Jeaux! scale...Buzzer gets a solid 3.75. Buzzer is one of my favorites so far. Would've liked to have seen him come with a pistol and holster though.
