Gotta go with the PIT - but give me PIT II, from issues #22-53 of the Marvel series. Much cooler than the first one.

That's what you think. Wait until I'm done putting together a PIT playset and you'll see there's plenty of play features. I expect to have all the sections you see in the below picture based on the original PIT design with a (somewhat) working vehicle lift. Um, not that I actually "play" with my toys.

The PIT cut-away picture is pretty inspirational. I'm thinking I can build one under a card table and make it really nice. Why am I still sleeping and where did all these pipes come from?

I second this suggestion. However, if pushed to choose one over the other - I choose the PIT, no hesitation. Pardon me, Cartoon enthusiasts, I watched every episode and own them all on DVD. I loved the cartoon too, but the Cartoon was really just filler for kids who liked to dabble in G.I. Joe. They were the kids who threw their file cards away and let Duke fly a Sky Striker when they were playing G.I. Joe. They were the kids who left their Joes outside and lost their equipment. They were the kids who didn't understand why Snake-Eyes was awesome, or that Duke wasn't really Scarlett's boyfriend. Real Joe fans read the comic book. Hama's words were law. The file cards were to be kept and memorized because a good commander knows and understands his troops and their capabilities. The Pitt makes the most sense for an Top Secret Special Forces Unit. G.I. Joe HQ is supposed to be hidden. How that would work as a play set, I couldn't say. But the PIT is G.I. Joe HQ. 'nuff said.

I like Marvel's Pit but I think that Sunbow's HQ will translate better into toy form like the playset from the 80's. I can't see Hasbro or any toy company making a playset as huge as the Pit.
