I have an idea for the 13th figure in the Club subscription service. What if the club made the last figure a gold head Steel Brigade? It would be an easy repaint for them (we know most figured will be mostly repaints). The figure never came carded (so it would be awesome to see on a 25th style card if they go that route) it is highly sought after and is the highest price domestic figure to obtain on the secondary market. Since you have to buy into the subscription early and must get all the figures, there might not be a ton of people who receive it. So the figure could come with a custom filecard with your name printed on it (as a homage to the original). I think it would be awesome. But what do you think? Would you enjoy a gold head for the subscription bonus figure?

I'm 100% for this idea. I love Steel Brigade, and the gold head is one of the prized pieces of my collection, would love to see an ME style update made from the POC version.

Well this is the Tank so no matter who they choose people will flip.
Scenario A- that figure is awesome! But what a bunch of crap that they won't make it at retail! I didn't subscribe and I missed out. Scenario B- That figure is crap! Why did they choose this turd for the bonus figure? Now that scenario isn't just for the gold head idea, it applies to any figure they make. And both scenario A and B will both play out no matter who they choose.

It wouldn't be my first choice, but I wouldn't be upset with it if they went that route.
If they did this though, I think I would want them to make him a more direct remake of the original SB. Duke chest, flash arms, etc. |

Honestly, I'm not crazy about the new Steel Brigade figure. Customs I've made and seen others make are a lot more faithful to the original and would be cool if they went that route (re-using 25th parts) but the main problem with that is that the Cobra Commander arms have to have their shoulder socket plug sanded down to fit into the torso. (unless they use a different upper arm part)

This would be a great idea, as long as it isn't a repaint of the POC figure and is a remake of the original using 25th parts.
I don't see custom filecards being feasible though, unless you just want a paper printed filecard in addition to the generic filecard printed on the cardback. that is an issue of cost, not time to know who to print, because each would require a new set-up. |

No, it would end up being a repainted POC figure at best with a gold helmet. Some sloppy paint apps and everyone could do this...if it was just teh 25th carded DO IT YOURSELF card of the figure...now that would be cool...

The club has just posted on Facebook;
'Stay tuned for a bit of coolness tomorrow...' I reckon that suggests either the finalised list, or maybe the subscription figure being finalised tomorrow...
