How does one go about checking the number of units in stock of an item on HTS? Some people were tracking the stock of the exclusives earlier, but I don't know how they did it.
My feedback thread is here.

I don't see hasbro taking the time to check for multiple orders, they don't care about it. they got paid for everyone they sold. Multiple orders=laarge amounts of profits.

Ok, there seems to be a lot of misinformation and bitterness here. I had a vendor's pass at the Con thanks to a friend of my father-in-laws. I saw how it worked before and after the doors closed. And let me clear up right now, Hasbro enforced their rules for everyone. In fact, they even tried to limit vendors in some small ways.
First things, first. This is my first time at SDCC. So let me just give you my perspective.
Vendors were lining up at Hasbrotoyshop every morning. But, security cleared them away and forced them (and me) to return to our booths. Of course, I moved next door to the Hot Wheels booth and gawked at the cool cars, but really keeping an eye on Hasbro. Wednesday night was absolutely, without a doubt, the worst day to buy toys. I spent my entire night in line and barely made the cut off. I made my purchase at 8:45 p.m.
You had to complete the order form and you were limited in your purchase, depending on the figure and toys. You could buy 4 Nemesis Primes, 2 Black suited CC, and 1 blue suited CC per badge. Kids badges were not valid for purchases. Now, if you were in a group, you could combine purchases on one card. That's what I did with my son and father-in-law. They walked the hall playing games, getting free crap, and when I got close, I called them over.
Sorry, but if I'm waiting 3 hours in line for a friggin toy, I'm getting as much as I can for it. Once you purchased your toys, Hasbro stamped your badge, and circled how many you bought of each item.
Now, I heard some vendors get around this trick by swapping badges with unused badges from their booth and then returning to the line. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with that since it has the same effect of buying figures in a group. It's just more time consuming to swap a badge and go back to the line.
As for scalping these figures, you guys lost me on this argument. This isn't the same as buying figures at the store and selling them. These are exclusive figures offered only to those people that attended the convention. Personally, I feel cheapened by the fact that they sold it online afterwards. How can it be an SDCC exclusive it wasn't exclusively sold at SDCC?
Yeah, I say that now that I attended the SDCC this year. But last year, I was hunting for those Pimp Daddy Destros like everyone else.
No, the real problem happened with vendors hanging out by the cash register or lines and asking each-and-every person in line at Hasbrotoyshop whether they were filling out their GI Joe allotment. If not, they offered these people cash and hung out to get their reward. I did this for this couple from Singapore I met in line behind me who basically come every year to buy stuff and travel the US. They wanted my Mighty Muggs Iron Man. I had no intention of getting them and helped them out. In return, they helped me buy one more Blue Cobra Commander
This problem of lecherous vendors hanging out by the registers was never corrected. The people at Hasbro knew the problem but couldn't do anything about it. There really wasn't anything technically wrong with what they were doing. Someone else was making the purchase and giving them the figures.
Anyway, my father-in-law's friend offered to switch out my badge with one of his other sellers so I could go again the next day. What am I an idiot? Of course I took him up on the offer.
Lines got better each day but they instituted newer rules. First you needed tickets that allowed you to get in line only during certain times. Next, they would not let Vendors get in line first in the morning. Anyone with an exhibitor's badge had to wait until an attendee badge got in line first. Then, they started checking IDs to match badges with names. But the problem with that is people bought badges late from others who had bought them early. Personally, when I got my vendor's badge, I sold my attendee badges for about 2-3 times as much, much less than the going rate.
Blue Cobra Commanders sold out on Thursday or Friday at some point. However, they magically reappeared on Saturday morning. Scored one more. They were gone for the entire convention at some point on Saturday. Black CCs were available the entire convention.
But, the logic for all these rules fell apart on Sunday. On Sunday afternoon, around 4:15 p.m., I get in line with my son. It was kid day so it was safe for him to return. He originally spent most of the weekend with uncles and grandpa seeing the sites while dad geeked out at the panels and exhibit hall.
Anyway, I get in line and now they decide that my son can't buy a black CC. The dealer tells me that the name on my son's badge doesn't match my own so he can't sell me a black CC. He doesn't know if I just picked up the badges off the floor. I ask if he knows a lot of people dropping their badges. At this point, he reaches over the counter and grabs my badge.
He calls me out, "You're just buying these up to sell them online. I've seen you in line before."
I ask him, "So you guys want to pay for shipping to ship these things back home rather than sell them to me 45 minutes before closing?"
His response, "Yes."
I tell him and his boss that this makes no sense? I ask them very calmly why they are acting like Toy police? What is the logic behind keeping these figures from selling? In a very agitated voice, they tell me that they want to make sure everyone gets a chance at buying them. I look behind me and see no one and I mean no one there. I look back at them with a half-assed knowing smile and say, "Uh, huh. So is everyone rushing overhere in the last 15 minutes to buy you up?" Their response was that I was lucky I was getting these last two.
So, before some of you vilanize me, let me offer this other little bit. They completely messed up my order on the first day. Everyone is pushing, shoving, rushing, and moving you off the register. In fact, my son was so scared and hurt from the shoving, he said he never wants to return. So when I look over my purchase outside, I notice that they didn't give me my two Savage Land Marvel Legend boxes. I go back and try to clarify this and the manager does not budge and does not give me my money back. I'm out $62. So yeah, I getz mine to make up for that fiasco.
The real tragedy, for those that care, is what happened at Mezcotoys. As I said earlier, I got to walk around on Wednesday before the doors opened. Since Hasbro was shoving me off, I decided to test the waters with other vendors and see if they were selling before the doors opened. Mattel would not and many others as well.
However, Mezco, in fact, was selling. I just wanted the 3 3/4" Hellboy figures. But I'm about 5th to 10th in line and see charges ranging from $1,500 to $2,000 before me. I ask these two guys ahead of me what was hot here. They respond that the Fury figure from the Warriors was going to be a big seller. As we're talking, Fury sells out. That's right. Fury sells out for the convention before the doors even opened to attendees. These two guys flip. They got badges just like I did and were simply buying one of him.
So for all of you that thought that Hasbro dropped the ball, just consider that last story. I bet Hasbrotoyshop puts the black CC up again once the people from San Diego return.
I'm the best there is at what I do, ha ha! But, what I do isn't very nice, ha ha!

About hasbro canceling orders. Anyone remember the McQuarrie Luke Skywalker fiasco last year? they sold them online with a discount code, and ten sent out emails about canceling orders because it wasn't "fair" to people at the show who didn't get a discount. After they cancelled my order. I emailed them, told them I did not authorize them to cancel and refund my money and that I expect them to resubmit my order. They did, and I got my order filled - but without the original discount.
My point - if they want to cancel, they will. hasbrotoyshop is a very unprofessional company, and have very little in the way of good business practice. Just my 2 cents.
