see everyone orders from bbts and hts or whereever they get em' from and i dont have the patience to wait for there backorder to get to me. i have to find em in stores! plus i hate paying shipping! i already collect rah which is my first priority when it comes to joe collecting and i feel your annoyance when it comes to finding these lil pieces of plastic. i hate how when i go to the store it seems i never find zilch.
last night was cool cuz i finally found wave 4 comic packs for the first time and now people are saying they found wave 5 already. i did get lucky though and found wave 9 right when they first came out but i got lucky. my persistance paid off finally. its bs that hasbro cant send more supply to stores to stock, although i have noticed that target and walmart are clearing out room, mabe hasbro is going to finally follow threw like they said with giving us more supply. when people complain about how you shouldnt buy everything and leave something behind for other collectors i agree but when i finally find the figs im looking for after weeks of hunting i end up buying them all just because i think to myself what if a scalper comes and buys em all , so being a collector i would rather help out a another collector who is looking for them then let a scalper take em and make a huge profit. mabe this is something more peole do then admit, who knows but either way i understand where your coming from, were hooked on joes! |

Now you could argue that I could sell the ones that I do not want on ebay, but then I run the risk of losing money from the figures themselves or each individual ebay auction fees or the figures not selling at all because no one else wants them either. So, I prefer not wasting money and just waiting it out until I finally do find the figures that I want. If that ever happens. On a side note: I just got back from a local Target that is about a mile from my house, and they had two cases of wave 9 out. However, the one figure that I wanted wasn't there, of course; and that figure was B.A.T.S. I have no interest in BBQ, Bazooka, Wild Bill and Torpedo. I already have Torpedo, Snow Serpent and Hawk. I guess I will just wait for the demand on B.A.T.S. to die down on ebay once Wave 11 and 12 hit so I can get him at the MSRP price instead of this stupid Scalper price of 20 dollars. |

I totally agree with you Wolfrunner. For the most part I urge patience. Everything eventually becomes available unless you're in one of those random spots where you can't get stuff.
I know a lot of people like BBTS as an alternative, but to me they aren't comparable in price. I only go to them for super rare things that I know I'll have trouble getting. HTS works well for me to fill in the gaps (Although again it takes patience as their stuff ships slooooooow) and I just casually look. I rarely bother with early morning hunts or searching tons of stores because Hasbro can't seem to get the Joe stuff out there. Plus with the added price hikes, I think they may be intentionally holding back product so that once it's released people will pay the extra $1-2 that they might not have paid if they only saw 1 or 2 figs. But if whole cases show up. But that's all conspiracy theory I suppose. I have no idea why GI Joe has such shitty distribution when all of the other stuff gets shipped by the ton. |

I have always been tempted to order/preorder Gi Joe figures from them despite their slow receiving/shipping time, but being a MOC collector, I am afraid that I will get some messed up cards that are all dinged, creased, folded with crushed bubbles. I guess that's the nice thing about BBTS is as long as you click on the collector box and pay the extra 2.00 dollars, you are guaranteed a pristine MOC Gi Joe figure =). |

I have almost stopped hunting because of Amazon.com. There I literally have been able to get everything. I just got the wave 5 comic packs for $50 shipped. Granted I could've saved a few bucks by going to BBTS. But for 5 dollars more I figured it was worth not having to think about finding these. It's crazy when you walk into a store and see hundreds of the Star Wars figures and almost no Joes not even wave 1 comic packs.

Just order from BBTS or another online store. That's what I do. With the cost of gas these days, and even with transit, I find it is more worth it to just order online and wait for it to come to you. Time costs money, and instead of going around for hours hunting these things down, I'd rather be spending that time with my family and friends.
Yeah, the thrill of the hunt is kind of fun and it's really rewarding when you find that rare figure in the store, but with the 25th anniversary line, it's been really brutal for stock, so online is so much easier. |
