I find this to be a very intersting thread. It's one of the reasons why I do not collect every figure. If I were a completist, I would feel obligated to have all the versions of Cobra Commander, who is one of my least favorite characters. As it turns out, I only have 1 version of CC, and I'm customizing that version. My problem is buying figures for customs. I bought only 1 roadblock, and I've used him for a custom. I've bought 4 ACE/Wild Weasel comic packs altogether, and I'm using every one for customs. I figure if Hasbro is not going to make some figures, then I will. I don't even mind re-using parts, but just give us new figures/characters.

wow after looking at the numbers it really does suck. Like many have said, I don't mind extra of a figure IF there different. Like Roadblock v1 and v2. Hawk in v1 and v2 and dress colors. But the Dukes and CC's is just disgusting. I love Destro and he's always been a favorite but now he's getting old. Give us more variety!

Somebody should count how many unique molds there are for each part: head, upper torso, lower torso, upper arm, lower arm, hand, upper leg, and lower leg.
Some times it feels like 90% of all of the figures released to date are made up some combination of Duke, Snake Eyes, or Cobra trooper parts :p |

I agree there are probably about 70 great figures that could be made.
I think they are flooding the market with too many un-original figures. I understand why but it is still a shame. |
