Will we get a Skystriker....YES, with the new animated series we'll get one, only thing is it's an VF-22 I have a strong feeling if the large star wars toys sell well we could see the new version of the FLAGG as well from the new animated series.

I don't. The new Millenium Falcon is just 2-1/2 ft long. The FLAGG was 7ft long. If a new FLAGG was the size of the new Falcon, tons of fans would be pissed because its so small compared to the old one. The chance of larger vehicles and bases is there, but the FLAGG and Terrordome are wishful thinking. I normally dont care about price but think about it, if the Falcon is $150 and 2ft the 7ft Flagg is 3X as long and 3-4X as tall with alot more in, thats like $350-$500 the only ones that would by that is a few of us fans/collecters. |

Being familiar with diecasting/mold making, most molds cost minimum of $50,000 for the base. Then you have all the accessories that need to be made and those are smaller molds that run $25,000 and up a piece. Therefore a vehicle the size of the Skystriker could cost well over $100,000 up to $300,000.
Most vehicles they are making now are either reuses or upgraded which are not as much. They already scrapped the mauler for 2 molds breaking (one was a wheel and the other was for something else small.) Do you really think they will go ahead with a SkyStriker that needs a whole new mold? Doubt it, especially the way they prefer to repaint stuff instead. the good news is, they also stated they are prepared to make either the Flagg, Terror Drome or Defiant if any retailer picks it up. |

after looking about some modern planes, i'm way more into the new Skystriker being a F-35. It's way sleeker then the kite-winged 23 AND comes in Carrier variant with folding wings. it's a hella cool looking fighter...

I can't wait to see how they turn out! |

if it's cheaper to just re do molds how come when mattel did the motu figures a few years back they bought mint figs on evil bay and used those to make new molds. I know a skystriker is bigger with more parts but just saying a company has done that recently. even if the skystriker is too much of a pain to do, you'd think we'd be able to get some tanks since it's just two parts they need a mold for.
I'm no expert but seems like a fairly easy thing to do. I'd love a skystriker (and night raven and tomahawk) and I know damn near every collector would pick one up for 30-35 or so. Might be worth Hasbro taking another look at. |

If the tru ELITE OPS folks can put out a 2 seater F-18 for 23$, then why dont they shoot for an F-14 tomcat. Keep it simple, no levers or anything, flip down landing gear and swivel wings, that's it, oh yeah and a 2 seater cockpit. No removeable panels, two tailfins in black and the ship in white with real insignias/generic but realistic. If Hasbro wont step up and spend the money or get someone like WALMART to front the money, then they should lose out to a company that would take the risk. The A-10 is huge and frankly not my cup of tea, but the brass balls are there, ELITE OPS shouldnt have done that dumpy looking F-15, what a p.o.s. that is. Sorry, but its the truth. The Skystriker is iconic, just like TARGET taking on the JLU line, 41 brand new characters for a line all thought was dead, repaints and simple mold pieces helping sell the line-I can deal with that. I call on Hasbro to just go ahead and make a new, simpler mold. As has been said, it is iconic and deserves to be on the shelves for fans and collectors alike.
If Hasbro is truly thinking about putting out a FLAGG again, then this is really the premiere aircraft they should be looking at putting out. There are several versions of it that can be put out-Night Boomer, Tiger Squadron, Regular SKY STRIKER version, add this with different variant figures like a ground crew, different pilots and accessories and you are good to go. |
