There have been at least two references to cops...one about getting out of tickets, and another using the sirens and lights to go through a red light. Yes, it does happen. But, that doesn't make it right.

Good for him. Bad for you. That's just how the ball rolls. I have absolutely no problem with it. I hope he got an employee discount too.
I get $50 off my DirecTV bill and you don't. I work for DirecTV. Every job has it's perks. Cops get off on speeding tickets all the time and I didn't. My bartender drinks for free. My friend can walk into Fenway Park any time he wants because he works for the team. When I worked at an apartment complex we got 50% off on our rent and everyone else didn't. Every NFL player gets two tickets to the Super Bowl every year regardless of whether they are playing. My friend gets reimbursed on ALL of his gas purchases. Should I keep going? Because there are probably some better perks out there that I'm missing. I don't care if it is against company policy either. As far as I am concerned, Toys R Us sells a product, their only obligation is to make sure it gets sold. Why should they care who is buying it? And for the record, I say the same thing about every single store out there regardless of who the buyer is (IE: in the case of Target, limiting people). If I were the "higher ups" at TRU and someone reported this guy, I'd give him a raise and send him even more GI Joe product...

Your example is more of a judgement call, and not really the same thing. There generally isn't anything written in stone saying who a cop will and won't write a ticket to (I know, I used to be one). However, TRU's policy is written very clearly with the consequences written just as clearly. And it would be the same if a police department wrote a policy that tickets would be given to anyone stopped, no exceptions.

I haven't read the whole list here, but as far as I know, he can buy all of them as long as 1)he's not on the clock and 2)he's not just standing next to the truck waiting for them to come off (called underselling). I'd say call their corporate and ask that this be checked. If he's buying on the clock, or underselling, he can lose his job.
Once they've been inventoried and stocked on the pegs, they're fair game for anyone (like I said before, though, as long as an emplyee isn't on the clock to do it), though as the manager, he should be letting the other paying customers have a chance at them before he buys all of them.

the question was asked and answered so it is safe to say that the case, just as this thread, is closed. No need to keep people angry.
