And if he got fired, I wouldn't feel bad for it. I play it both ways.

this whole thing is absurd. you guys are going ape sh&^ over what would amount to hersae (sp?). what he was doing with them was never mentioned yet there are all these huge leaps as to scalping, hoarding, etc. this place is just going bonkers you guys get one little tid bit of some 3rd person story and it's the 3rd crusade against the evil toy conspiracy.
if he bought it all for resale, sure, report him as is probably the requested action. in the mean time why not take the reasonable course of action and actually try to interject some reason into the equation and i don't know, maybe ask they guy whats going on? before reporting him as part of the axil of evil.

Only problem with that is, that when someone's doing it at their place of employment, it's squarely in the category of "not" out of work.

If he buys them all to keep at home cuz he wants one in every room, is it different then if he were to decide he doesnt want them anymore and puts them on ebay? What you do with it once u buy it is your business is it not?
Isnt this what we fight Target about? Because they wont let us buy multiples because we are collectors? |

I know that at Walmart they call that "understocking" and it's an automatic termination.

You are correct, it is hear say. But, the employee also mentioned that the manager was selling the Wii fits on ebay. Simple way to figure out if that is true or not. But the main question the poster was asking was if it is legal. As far as TRU employee regulations go, it is not.
i like all the moral authority being projected by people here... i['m sure none of them as ever used a position to kook up themselves or others. not saying it's right but it's not enough to hang the guy for gods sake. he's the manager of a toy store here.. far more important poeple are doing this on much more important matters. who here hasn't seen a cop car turn on lights just to go thru a stop light only to pull into a parking lot? as someone else has said, this could go on all day....

I was out at my local TRU and looking for joes and only found a wave 9 torpedo so I know they were there. Anyway I went to the games section and they had 3 Wii fits so I bought one and I asked the guy how did I get so lucky with this hard to find item but not my Joes. He replied "My manager buys all the Joes when they come in that's why there are none in the isle." Is this even legal for the manager of the store to buy all the items that are new for a popular toy line such as the 25th Joes. The clerk also told me I was lucky to get a Wii fit because his manager bought 5 of the 12 they got this morning to sell on ebay. I could have bought three Wii fits but I actually want others to enjoy finding these hard to find items. I may just be to nice. I just hate scalpers and a manager at TRU who is one! What chance do any collectors in my area ever have of getting any new figures from that TRU. While I don't like to be a dick I am really thinking about calling the TRU getting the Main office number and reporting this clown. Should I just let it go? Believe me if I were the manager at a huge toy retailer I would be tempted to but this guy is just taking it to far.

oh, if you do report the guy, don't mention joes. i doubt anyone cares about the joe shortage. mention the wii and you'll get much more attention.
