Well for better or worse, the Transformers line keeps recycling the same characters. For example Arcee was not in the new Transformers movie, but they made an Arcee figure for the movie line.
Do you think we might see figures based on characters we already know apear in the movie toy line up? It's no compensation, but at least it would be something for custom fodder.

Arcee was however in the script but her parts were cut before they were to be filmed. That figure was made from the GGI modles made for the movie. I'm not surprised as this is what they did with the Transformers Classics line, draw old school collecters in again and build buzz for the so-so movie toys.
The line was so popular, they brought it back under the Universe line. It had nothing to do with building buzz for the movie toys, as the movie toys sold themselves. |

Swindle, O.k. he had a toy ,but was not in the movie. Do you think we might see...say...GI.Joe movie Flint? Flints not in the movie, but I could see them slap a 25th Flint head on a 'Movie Duke' body, and there you go...you have a "new" figure. I woulden't put it past them, and like I said it's not a substitute for the 25th line, but at least it's something.. |

this seems to be hasbros MO as of late. Yeah suck in the old schoolers then BWAMO.. shitty movie stuff just like with "swindle" and Arcee. WE'll see a movie-ized flint, recondo, tunnel rat etc. Personally i will spit on these things until they decide that the modern style classics should be kept going. f' the movie and f hasbro for not keeping up with the modern classics line only to shove movie figures no one will really want down our throats.

To this point the 25th line has been great but it would be terrible if we didn't get a few more essentials out the door before the line dies. I still need Blowtorch, Alpine, and individually carded Dusty, Quick Kick, and the Dreadnoks to be happy. I'm sure others feel the same way. I guess the good news is that the movie isn't going to be released for another year or so so there is still time to get some more classics out the door.

At least I know I won't be spending any more money on toys and G. I. Joes once the 25th line stops. That's a good thing, but lousy that I won't see all the figs through '87.

There is a few more I'd like to see, and a few we have seen that I'd like to see made to look more classic. Don't like the updated Zartan, Buzzer, or Serpentor. Destro looks a little too DDP/Image for me too (Frankenstein shoes, Muscle bound, and the head is a little off). Now to a few things Hasbro got right. Cobra Commander x2, Baroness, Cobra Troopers, Storm Shadow, Scarlett, Snakeeyes, Stalker, Bazooka, Snow Job, torpedo, and a load of others. I don't really mind the Major Bludd repaint like a lot of people do. I don't mind the Duke arms on Flint. The gloves thing kinda bothered me, but they gave us the parts to fix it ourselves if we want. So yeah I'll stick by my A- rating |
