How did you get addicted to collecting 25th Anniversary figs?
For me, I first saw a lone hooded Cobra Commander in March. I hadn't seen any GI Joe figs where I live for *years*, so, reminiscing back to my childhood and how much fun I had with GI Joes, I thought "cool, I've got to buy this!". Then I saw a few more at some other collectible shops and thought to myself "Okay, I'm just going to collect a few Cobra guys -- the coolest looking ones". Then "Ok. Just the Cobra guys." Then "What the heck. I'm buying them all!"

35th anniversary? Buy all the joes you see and then time travel back to 2008 and sell them all!
But really, I got addicted because I loved joes as a kid.I used to collect Marvel Legends and with the huge delay and lacking quality and sculpt of them lately, I just got bored with them. I saw a red ninja at tru and I picked him up. I got home, opened him, and I was blew away by pure awesome, and I've been collecting ever since.

as a kid in 1982, i recieved Snake eyes as a get well gift when i had a bad ear infection. growing up i had both Joes and Transformers. i Had WAY MORE joes than transformers, but years later, when i stumbled across a G1 bumblebee in a comic shop, that ignited my transformer addiction. Now that my Transformer collection is complete, i have gone back and started collecting the original 2 years worth of joes in 25th ann editions, but getting the original vintage vehicles and playsets.

Back in the day I could get a Joe at the end of the week if I did good on a test or did my chores or somthing. Actually the deal was I could get $5 or a GI.Joe. Being a kid I always went with getting the joe. The joes back then were around $3. So if I took the $5, and waited a week I could get 2 joes the next week. Give or take a dollar. I brought this up to my Mom recently, and told her she owed me some money. She said "though sh!t". Man I was dumb.
Transformers were more of an X-Mass thing, they were expensive. I been hooked on both ever since. |

I subscribed to Wizard. They had reviews of the first wave and I thought they were very cool. Part of it was the coolness factor and part of it is the nostalgia too. I love how these toys bring back so many memories. So I got hooked and needed a way to stay up to date with everything and stumbled across the good old Hisstank and discovered troop building. I am really hooked and don't know when I'll stop. I think the only way I will is if they revert back to the older articulation.

I hadn't even looked in the toy aisle in probably 10 years. I was shopping with my wife in a Target last October, strolled into the toy section, saw Sgt. Stalker hanging on the pegs, and that was it.
When I was a kid, I didn't even collect Joes. I was more of a Transformers/MASK kid. I think my only Joes were Grand Slam, Cobra Commander, the FLAK, and one of my favorite toys, a FANG. Wait, I'm pretty sure I had a Polar Battle Bear, too. |
