I think I saw Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and CC on the pegs in Walmart one random time walking through the toy section last fall. Only $5! I got one or two of them (figuring I would just pick up a couple to have them since they had the retro packaging). Then the next day went back and got the other(s).
Then I couldn't keep my eyes off the 5-packs. And I was doomed. |

I found the original Five Packs at K-Mart and bought them on a whim after passing them up for two or three weeks. I actually wanted to avoid collecting the line satisfied with ending my collecting days with the end of the Alternators.

After collecting everything there was for Robotech MPC from Toynami; I finally decided to dive into the massive world of GI JOE. I was collecting ARAH stuff when the new line got introduced.
I was there from the beginning, from the 5 packs to W1.

with the ARAH OG stuff, i emptied my storage unit and found all my old stuff and just wanted to complete everything and then just built it up from there.
For the 25th line was because of The one and only time i ever found anything at targe and kb's. i went there one day and they had waves 1,2,3 sitting on the shelf minus flint and SE/timber. I wasnt going to collect them because i figured i was too late. But since i was able to get all caught up in one swoop i took it and ran with it. now im broke haha |

I saw Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow in the fall and it was on. Hitting Walmarts late at night, lurking around in the toy department, how embarrassing. I have issues, but who cares, I just got a set of wave 9!!!

I also read about the 25th line in Toyfare. Then one day I was in Kmart and they had both 5 packs and all of wave one. It was the happiest I ever was to have my wallet be empty. Been hooked since.

Been collecting since 1980-thingy (very hard to pin down when "GI JOE" really began here in the UK!) and haven't lost interest since.
Saw the first pictures of 25th designs (in Toyfare I think) and realised that Hasbro had made classic figures look even better - Ergo I decided I must have them all and thusly was addicted.

I was pretty much through with Joes as I was complete with my 1982-1988 series. I wasnt into GvC and scarcely bought any of them unless it had Flint. I was more into comic packs but was disenchanted by the lack of Oktober guards out there.
Now what the 25th had that broght me back into this was there scale. They are actual 1/18 scale. And they made Flint right.

I've always been in joes but lost interest in the 90's like many of you. For the 25th line, I saw an article in toyfair and loved how much detailed Hasbro had put into the characters I loved as a kid. From that point it GI JOE had taken over my life....again
