This question takes me back to when I was a kid. When I was a kid, I used to hide figures until I had enough $$$ to buy them. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
Recently, I saw some figures and had the urge to hide them to see if it still works. I didn't end up hiding them, but did wonder where is the best hiding spot for Joe figures at retailers like Wal-mart, TRU, or Target? Those of you tankers whom work at the above retailers, feel free to add in! |

I dont hide figures anymore, but when $$$$ was tight in my mid 20's I did. I would hide them in the plush section or behind well stocked barbies. It used to work pretty well too.

I work at Walmart and I've seen people hide Joes in some pretty creative places! Some that come to mind are:
1. Under the VERY bottom shelf of the isle (the one that's 4" above the floor) 2. Behind anything from board games to tampons. It seems that the tampon method is the best... as guys don't generally think to look behind THOSE for hidden goodies! 3. The nook behind the price signs on a 4-way display. There are 4 price signs that form a box shape. Most people don't think to flip up one of the price signs and look behind it. That's also where associates like to stick tape guns and trashbags - out of the way but still close by and handy. 4. I've caught some kids doing this before (actually trying to steal them): They stuffed them a bed comforter set. Sad... |

I don't hide. I buy! And if I find hidden - and I have - I either buy those too or put them back on the pegs.

Never had the need to in the 80's. All the other kids seemed to want Transformers. Now of course the question is moot for me..:(

I used to hide Star Wars figures several years ago behind weight/barbell sets. There hard to move and they aren't (or weren't) a huge seller. Things would stay there forever it seemed like. There may still be some "Orange and Green Card" Star Wars figures there today..... The fish food/aquarium accessories were another good place. I haven't done that in years... tempted to do it again to see if it still works.

as a CHILD I would move them way in the back of the hanger, there were not as many 30ish toy men back then, so the competition was only other children. Now I just put figures back where they belong when I find something out of place. If I'm looking at toys I darn well better be able to afford toys
