I have a couple of Joe and Cobra figurines that need a new groin, so I was wondering how exactly do I 'dismantle' each figurine, is it hard to do ?

If your figures are pre 25th, taking the screw out of the hole in the back should be enough to get you down to the crotch area. Once the screw is out, the torso will usually fall into two peices spilling the head and arms out. Then just pull the legs down pulling the o-ring and the hook thru the crotch and that should have the broken crotch isolateted. Putting it back is just reverse process, a little tricky but easy enough on a flat surface. holding the arms head and o-ring in the proper places while you place the torso together can be frustrating the first time you do it.
Now 25th series is a whole different process. I will let the more experianced tell you that one. There is a tutorial on here i'll try to find the thread and send it along later. Hope this helped! |

I didn't think that you could break the 25th figures groin areas.
Do they break easily or what? |

Anyway, just in case, go under the heading G.I. Joe Customs in the Forums and look for a thread called "custom tutorial index" by Echo7 solo. It is awesome! and has a wealth of info including a disassembly guide for 25th style figs. I keep it on my favorites list. |

Yeah, it can be done, is far more easier than split the body. On the top there's a peg that hold the upper and lower torso. It's T shaped, with a small joint in the bottom, that gets inside the lower torso. There's a small hole for the peg to move (which gives the middle torso articulation) in which you can stuck a screwdriver and just push. The good thing is that this section gets covered by the upper body, so if you do a bit of damage it won't be noted.

Like someone said above, it's very easy. You can also find replacement o-rings on ebay for real cheap once the originals wear out
