Regardless how I feel about some of the figures and vehicle designs, there is no doubt they are made extremely well (for the most part). I bought a lot of ROC stuff for my son this Christmas since much of it was heavily discounted and I have to say I have been impressed by it's structural quality.

I agree, from what I've seen the quality is much better and you get more accessories on some of the figures.

I have to say I was a little disappointed with some of the articulation with the arms.
I got some Turtle Vipers from Serpent Armor and Heetseek sets, and they can't hold their guns nearly as well as the Resolute Troopers. Those are the only ROC guys I have besides MARS Troopers, Nightadder, Red Fang and CSSE. I'm not saying ROC's articulation is worse than 25th, I just don't think it's a huge improvement. Resolute Troopers aren't considered 25th are they? Last edited by Beckley; 12-26-2009 at 03:21 AM.. |

I agree that some ROC figures have less articulation, but they sure seem to be made out of better/stronger plastic.

Actually, I've found that many of the ROC figures have much better art. than older 25ths, and I agree that the quality of the vehicles far supercedes the older 25ths as well.
As much as people hate it, the Steel Crusher is amazing (Currently in the mod-ing stage, used a dremel and hacked out the rear cannon, now just need sheets of styrene to make the rear into a troop carrier)

ROC stuff is by far the best-made movie 3 3/4 toyline I've seen and when heavily discounted its hard not to appreciate them.

Sorry, but I must disagree with some of you about the articulation of ROC not being very good. The articulation is a helluva lot better than the 25th line.

rise of cobra is vastly superior to most of the 25th line. quality, art direction, packaging. i can imagine the folks at hasbro were bored to tears redesiging the original characters just to have fan boys rage about duke's smile.
another thing is that since im not at all interested in the characters and have no sentimental value towards them i am free to customise them in any way i see fit without pangs of nostalgiac guilt. |

I agree, the ROC figures seem to be made with a higher quality.
