Hey guys!
I am pretty new to this board and have found it very useful. You guys have a great community going. I just wanted to share an idea I had to display loose figures. I like to open my figures. Displaying over 50 figures (so far) from the 25th Anniversary collection would take up way too much wall space if I left them on card backs. I also like to pose them with their weapons. I looked for many months to come up with a good wall display method. I like compartmentalized display cases because they separate each figure and look more organized. I also think a mirrored back looks good in a case. After searching around on Ebay and the internet I was hard pressed to find a good display case that would fit my needs for under $100, and I would need multiple display cases for the figures I had piling up. My eyes kept going back to Protech and their line of reasonable priced cases. http://www.protechproductsinc.com/starwars.htm The only problem I had with these (and I mulled over it for months) was that the figure stands that come with the Joe's don't fit in the compartments. I wanted all the figures labeled with their code names. Then I thought about a label maker.... if I could find one that printed white text on a black background then that should serve the purpose and because the case had a plexiglass cover I could put the labels right on that. I found a brother label make for $19 and got some 1/4" tape for it that does white text on a black background. Perfect. I did have to buy some ProTech stands... but let me tell you... they support your joes much better than the included rectangle stands and they are made to fit perfectly with this case. Check the pictures to see how they turned out. I am very pleased with the outcome. Last edited by Acid Ghost; 07-21-2008 at 09:43 AM.. |

Thanks guys. I figured this idea might help anybody who is looking for a nice neat way to display figures. I emailed Protech and asked about the "sold out" $30 cases. I am going to be mad if they discontinued them cause I will need more! Hopefully they are just restocking.
You can get them at Earth Toy Mall and WholesaleCases as well I believe. |
