The Skystriker from the upcoming cartoon is based on the YF-23. This is one of the best planes "never made". Anyways I love this vehicle, and hope Hasbro does make a toy of it in the future. Maybe a lot of you do to. If Hasbro did decide to make it, how would you want it to turn out?
I for one would not want any electronics. Electronic gimmicks usually take up a lot of internal space and ruin the sculpt by making everything bulky to accomodate them. Compare the Thunderwing to the old Skystriker. One had electronics, the other didn't. HUGE difference in proportions. The Thunderwing could have been sleek, like the F-22 it was based on, but it turned out fat, bulky, and disproportionate with small wings. For that matter, I don't think missle launching features would be that important either. The Target vehicles had none and look how hard those were to find. None of the upcoming vehicles have it either, unless you count the DTC HISS but that wasn't really shown at Joecon, or the RHINO in the computer listings, if it ends up being the DTC version. What the anniversary line has proved, is that missle launching gimmicks are not a priority for us. Gimmicks usually compromise proportions. The only vehicle in recent years that incorporated electronic gimmicks and missle launchers well was the NAC. What I would want most importantly on the new Skystriker, are proportions accurate to the YF-23 that it is based on. I'm not asking for something true to scale, but something proportionate, as in if you saw it, you would definitely know its a YF-23, not a YF-23 with tiny wings and a bloated body. With the old Skystriker you could look at it and tell it was an F-14, the only thing showing it was out of scale being the figure inside. With the Thunderwing you would see an F-22 based toy that was definitely not proportionate to the F-22, but one that was fat with small wings. Sure the Thunderwing may have been fun to play with, but I want a plane that looks and plays well. The Power Team Elite F/A-18 was right up my alley. Same with their A-10, that you can see at TRU. So the gimmicks that could work without bulking the sleek fighter up, would be removable panels to expose internal mechanical details, like on the old RAH vehicles. A landing gear mechanism linked to flaps or airbrakes, like the Night Raven and Phantom X-19 accomplished. Thats about it. All in all, the less gimmicks the better, so long as the gimmicks do not compromise the proportions and turn a sleek proportionate fighter to a disproportionate bloated toy with small wings, it will turn out alright. If made right that would be a hot toy. Also do you know if Destro was able to ask Hasbro any questions at the con?

The YF-23 Skystriker will look almost exactly line those pics above. They also said it will have most of the decals from the original in the animation style.

Do you know if it's going to be an exact replica of the yf-23? My guess is that it won't have any sound or firing functions on the plane since the cartoon is geared towards mature collectors, but porportion wise I don't see us getting a correct scale of the fighter jet.

They never said they were going to make this into a toy. It was said they wanted this plane to have the old school markings in the cartoon.

I concur that no electronic gimmicks be placed in the toy. I rather make my own noise....bang bang!!!

So are the Skystriker, Rattler, Night Raven and Conquest to be realistic
even the Power Team Elite planes are too small which everyone lauds I have a BBI F-18 which is far larger than a Night Raven and a correct scale F-14 would be bigger still so I can only imagine how big a YF-23 would be to scale so I guess the question is how underscaled of a vehicle do you want?
