I have a friend who works for marketing for the WWE. Nearly all the custom mock-ups have been made available for consumers.
Now to the JOES... This is how the process works... 1- They make the mock-ups, the designs like Sci-fi, Tech-Viper, Night Viper, Cobra-La guard etc... 2- Guys like us talk about them like I am right now. 3-They get fans salivating over the mock-ups. 4- Bring the figs back to research and development, tweak them, make them more sturdy and "playable." 5- Then integrate into the line for consumers. FACT- you will see 90% of what is now at the con as mocked-up customs integrated into the line. The B.A.T.S, Bazooka, Snow Job were all mock-ups at one point and have made what is simply called "integration." The process is the same for every action figure/toy manufacturer. This is action figure industry FACT. There are cuts. But never many. 90% is a good ratio. |

Good to hear.
The weird monster stuff I can live without, but the Night Viper was pretty sweet and would make up for the loss of the DTC version.

Hmmmm. I wish we were getting the customs from 2007 still.......none of those came to fruition this year. Zarana, Slaughter, Range-Viper, Raptor, Airtight, Leatherneck (although he's now coming I guess), Lifeline, Shockwave, Pythona, Night Creeper......I think I might be forgetting a few others. Anyways, it doesn't seem like Hasbro is releasing any of their custom mock-ups anytime soon. I'd love it if they did, though!
