Do what Star Wars does. Release some movie crap for a couple months then begin releasing original Joe goodness back into the line when the movie excitement ends. Hasbro has maintained its hardcore Star Wars fanbase in large due to continually releasing Original Trilogy product right along side Prequel products.
Heck, you may even like the movie line. Lets wait to see it before bashing it relentlessly. |

Personally speaking, given the difficulty I've had finding the 25th toys (and am still having), I look forward to aisles filled with new product.

Ya never know. The movie figs might make for some interesting custom fodder.

i wish people would be more open minded about this. this bashing of hasbro is getting a little old. less than a year ago they had plans to make a reminder line with newer articulation and limit the product. it blew up in their face and they are busting balls to get us new product.
you have to remember, they were already putting plans together for the movie way before this line took off. you can't expect a company as big as hasbro to change their plan in mid track and cancel everything they already spent millions on getting together so some dude could get a shockwave. i remember dozens of people on this board crying and moaning about the 25th isn't as good as arah, blah, blah, blah. some people are starting to sound like little spoiled babies and sometimes it makes me wanna puke! great things can come from experimentation. the brand must live on, and live on in younger eyes. just get used to it, most vintage 12" collectors have. the old line will be back, it's not the end of the world, for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!! |

The single cards and the updated classic likeness is what got me collecting toys for the first since ten years old. I ONLY collect the Joes that are of the original figures/cartoon likeness. In other words, no comic packs (unless the figures are like the originals--i.e. Copperhead, Ace, Wild Weasel, Tomax, Xamot, Ripper, Torch, Breaker, but still do not collect MOC, just singles), no air troopers, no night watch, no red ninjas. The AWE striker is the only vehicle I have wanted (but will get all the upcoming others because they are classic vehicles).

After some reading and thinking:
As some have pointed out, the idea of the hiatus makes sense; don't have competing lines. I'm sure Paramount (or whoever is doing the movie) would not like seeing "their" figures being outsold by ARAH. That being said, if (and I do mean if) the movie bombs, I'm afraid it'll be the end of Joe for some time. When Hasbro reps go to WM's headquarters in Alabama and say "Look, we've got these great GI Joe figs" the WM rep is gonna look at the MOVIE figure sales and (possibly) see the bomb. To them, its GI Joe, ARAH or movie. Honestly, to me, the best way to hope that the 25th line stays around is to SUPPORT the movie line. I mean, I go out and buy 5-6 of the SAME FIGURE either to army build or have MOC. I could easily justify purchasing a few of the movie figures, just for the hopes that a steady sale of the line would give us all a chance to see ARAH come back. But, that's just my take. And besides, the movie figures might not be half bad, we don't know yet. |

I dont see why they cant just push the movie line to the kids and let the 25th stuff for the real collectors...it makes no sense why they cant run both lines at the same time...they sell so many other lines at once...this would be no different to do
