I said bad idea. Even though it is better than the original, he's still chunky. I would rather them have done Wetsuit instead.

I give credit to Hasbro for at least giving us a Deep Six figure, but once again they've dropped the ball in my book. I could look at it 2 ways though. On one hand we are getting an "update" to an original figure. With that said Hasbro chose to keep it simple and to give homage to the original by giving it limited articuation. They did the same with Major Bludd's arm. Some might say that Hasbro is getting cheap and lazy, and sometimes I agree with that, but hey at least they are trying.
I am very happy that we are getting an updated Deep Six, but I would have rather seen one with more articulation like most of the other members here would. With that said I wouldn't necessarily need the articulation to be the same as the other 25th Anniversary figures. For this new version of Deep Six I would have liked to see one of two things. The first thing that would have been cool was if they made the suit removable so that you could take Deep Six out of it. They could have used Torpedo's wet suit for him underneath. If that didn't work and they didn't want to make the suit removable, I wish then that they used some sort of articulation similar to Marvel Legends for the suit. Ball jointed articulation all around, especially for the hips, knees, shoulders and elbows. Then they could have just used the regular 25th articulation for the wrists and ankles. |

For Deep Six's suit to be removable it would have to be huge and look (in my opinion) far worse than what we ended up with. Just imagine SNAKE Armour passed off as an actual character! Ewww!

Exactly. For the suit to be removeable, it would have been huge. Also, it wouldn't cost out as a pack-in for a vehicle. And it wouldn't fit in the SHARC.
So, I vote good idea. It's a nice homage to the original. I don't really understand why the pilot of the sub needs a pressure suit, since other Joes can pilot the SHARC without it. Sure, I would have liked at least ball shoulders, but a guy in a deep dive suit has basically no flexibility. I'm more curious about whatever changes were made to the SHARC itself. Someone mentioned handles for guys to hold onto underneath, which sound cool. Hopefully, the pop up guns lock in place better than my Night Specter which has issues with one of the guns staying up. |

For some reason I feel that if you gutted out the original figure you could make some sort of "snap-on" suit that would fit a regular figure which wouldn't be as huge as the SNAKE armor. I was thinking of picking up an original Deep Six to try this myself. I would also try to make hip and knee joints for him in order to give him some sort of articulation. The only problem with this idea would be the part that covers the arms and feet. They would have to be newly molded parts.

I think a new Deep Six is an awesome idea. One question, though: Why does he have to be articulated like the rest of the figures? He's in a deep dive suit. I can't imagine there's a lot of movement there. Arms and legs, sure, but does he really need knees? I can also see wrist artic, but that should be par for the course now. I mean, how many poses will you put him in where he'd use his knees?
As long as he has ball jointed arms, elbows, wrists, I'm good to go. Hopefully down the line they make a comic pack with the out of suit Deep Six. Then release the Whale w/ Cutter and everyone could die happy.

Looking at that pic, all I can think is what a f*cking joke that figure is. It's a brick with two arms that swivel. The hands aren't even molded to hold anything.
