maybe the movie will set it off and we will see a return in interest to the 80's line. i think when my move is finished late july early aug im going to try and unload most of my vinatage stuff. the 25th guys are just so much better to gaze upon i love the old shit but im running out of room its really hard to part with em, hell i dunno-i have soooooooooooooooooo much stuff!

the 25th line is alright but it just doesnt compare to the 80's arah joes. to me they will alweys be cooler because thats what i played with as a kid and the memories i have with them makes them more valuable to me.
25th is cool but i bet they wont hold there value in a few years like the 80's stuff. mabe in 20" yrs when the kids who are playing with the 25th line now grow up, then mabe they will have value but untill then they wont really be worth shit except to the people who want em'. unless hasbro goes all out and release a bunch of vehicles and base's along with the rest of the original joe line i dont think they will even then really be worth anyhting. to me they are made alot cheaper. they have detail but as far as derability, they are made like crap. i collect them but i dont get all bummed out when i cant find em, id rather have the 80's joes. im all about the rah line and thats what i collect. |

I agree with you coola784! I like the vintage joes better, but I am getting some of the 25th figures. Like the ones that I really like because of the detail on the figures. I am going to get the vehicles too, because that is what made GiJoe so fun to play with back in the 80's. A figure is a figure, but a figure with a neat vehicle, OH BOY WHAT FUN!!!!

I think the two are separate. The 25th allows new collectors or even older ones to enjoy the hobby with out going bankrupt.
Look to Star Wars figures. The new stuff hasn't stopped or devalued the vintage stuff. eBay hurts value on some figures. Right now the prices may slip too because of gas prices and the cost of living. But they could rebound next year as things stabilize and the movie debuts |

I know in my situation that I am looking to complete the tiger patrol from 1989. If I already have the 25th version of say flint, and he was maybe going for $12 on ebay I would probably pass on him for the time being.
