So, going on a really extensive toy run today, to find Transformers Animated Grimlock left me with absolutely no Grimlock, but I did pick up a Lugnut as a consolation prize. Anyway, I digress...
I went to Toys R Us, and found a very... unique find. On the GI Joe pegs, there was plenty of wave 8, besides Major Bludd (of course) and I turned around, to look at the wall of clearance stuff behind me and found some of the cheapest 25th Anniversary GI Joes, ever. Some of the cheapest GI Joes ever, to be honest. An entire case of wave 8, that looked like someone dropped an elephant on it! I poked through the pegs, and saw an Arctic Snake Eyes. As you can see, the figure is amazing. The card and the bubble are garbage, but hey, I can definitely use him to make my 2nd Arctic Trooper custom! For $1.90, its a steal. I next saw the glimmer of shinyness. Wait, the only shiny figure in wave 8 is... Major Bludd of course. He is a little worse for wear, because his leg looks like its about to pop off at the knee, but hey, for $1.90, a little hot water goes a long way. I didn't get pictures of them, but the Roadblock from the case looked like he was involved in the worst traffic collision ("We don't call them accidents anymore. That implies that no one's to blame." ... name that movie!) of all time. Baroness (fixed crotch even) was doing the Time Warp in her packaging (no, serious). The Python Patrol Officer looked pretty good, I really regret not getting him now. The TF Flint was alright, and the bubble was affixed to the card with enough packing tape to kill the elephant that sat on it. Didn't bother with the Cobra Commander. The MASS Device piece probably fell out anyway. In all, a good find.

For $1.90 I would clean them out as custom fodder. Great Find!

AWESOME find! Let's hear it for bad-ass kids and/or clumsy stockers Man, I would've cleaned that aisle up for customs!
No kidding. I've seen some of the most jacked up singles and comic packs (Doc points, comics and weapons missing), and took them to a Wal-mart manager, and they say , "No, sorry as long as the toy is in tact, it doesn't matter what the package looks like." I might have to hit up my TRU Clearance... |
