ive been wondering with the release of the 25 and now the steady and strong rah....is vinatge joe taking a beating or is it re envigorated? i know some oldschool vehicles saw some demand despite the figs not fitting so well but with more new vehicles surfacing and the rumors abounding of even more, will the older less articulate and rather simply sculpted figs keep their value?

Can't see how. I presume that people who have been into Joe for years won't suddenly 'go off' the old ones in droves.
Equally, 'newbies' who limit themselves to collecting the 25th Joes weren't buying ARAH anyway.

It has definitely brought the value way down on certain figs! 2 years ago a 85' snake eyes, or 84' firefly would have brought you about $50 on ebay. Now they are in the $20 range. I've posted some vintage complete figs in the last few months and not even gotten a nibble?

I guess it depends on the figure. The same thing happened to star wars vintage. Some pieces fell off drastically due to new up-grades. This is the case with the shuttle, b-wing and so forth. heck I paid $400 for a sealed c9.5 shuttle. Now it goes for roughly $300 on ebay.

Its actually had the opposite impact on me. I am currently selling most of my 25th figures, to focus my collecting vintage stuff. These new 25th figures just arent the same for me. There are no memories attached to them, which is why I collect GIJOE in the first place. Hopefully, I can get some good deals now!

Its a Fact that vintage prices have fallen for just about everything except rare and sealed vehicles. Now I could not tell you if its becase of the 25th/modern line or not.
Just take 5 minutes and surf ebay for figures you know are expensive loose ARAH figures. You will be able to see the prices have fallen way down.

It gets worse as we get older. The 80's kids will dwindle slowly leaving no room for the market of 80's Joes.
