maybe Hasbro will have a "rescue the flagg" mail-away. You just have to collect 500 comic pack's proof of purchases(plus 100 bucks for shipping and handling of course). I think I can do with the pile of comic packs warming the pegs at my local stores.

500 comic pack's proof of purchase @ $10 each comic pack would = $5,000 bucks.
Definitely help clear out the peg warmers that never seems to even go on sale. |

That's good news, but there is no way I would buy one of these. Where would I put something so large? Besides, it wouldn't be the same as it was back when my brother and I owned it as kids. It would be more of a nuisance for me with the amount of space it would take up, then something I would enjoy like I did when I was a kid. So it would be a HUGE pass for me.
Doesn't surprise me about the price tag, though. Heck, the new Millenium Falcon is 150 dollars and it is a lot smaller than the Flagg; so it only makes sense that something 3.5X the size would be that much in price. Ahhh...inflation, gotta love it. Besides, other than collectors, I doubt very much the average kid could convince their parents to pony up 500 dollars for a toy. |

i think that hasbro should make a new cobra base like the pyramid or something like that, that has never been made, cobra alweys had some badass base's that never got made. the terror drome is sweet and i would love to get one but something new needs to be made. the uss flagg is sweet but i would never pay 500 for one. thats rediculous, its just a toy. mabe 250 at most.

Man, I had the Flagg when I was a kid. I loved it! But for me, it belongs where I left it....in the past. Too big, not really practical. When your a kid, who cares? The bigger the better! Now....it would be just another thing I would have to dust.

Agent-GHQ, like the many conversations we have had over IM and the thread I started on "what would you pay for a FLAGG, TD or Defiant", there is a price point most collectors won't go over on a new toy. There are going to be those that say they would buy and probably would/will, but that is not going to be enough for Hasbro to produce it. I don't see many parents buying such a large expensive toy for their kids. Especially a "war toy", when so many parents frown upon war related stuff these days.

The thread has been merged with another that talks about the same issue. There is no need for two similar threads.

I still have my vintage (man that word sucks when it's the same one i had as a kid) Flagg and I haven recently restored it. (New stickers, paints, etc)
However, THAT one has nostalgia. I would love to have a new one and would pay $250 TOPS for it. Anymore than that is just too high for a toy, both for collectors and kids. Yes, I know some go on ebay for thousands of dollars, but those ARE originals and mean something different. The Terror Drome shouldn't be more than $150 looking at the new Falcon and AT-TE for SW. |
