Suggestion for New GI JOE Spacecraft

SV-5D PRIME was the basis for the lifting bodies program, these wind tunnel models look just as modern today as they were over 40 yrs ago.

The single cockpit and larger flaring out of the body to make a usable cargo area.

Granted I dont see Hasbro making any large GI JOE vehicles, but the skystriker surprised me. Still, a medium sized or slightly smaller than the crusader/defiant would be pretty cool.

I still think any GI JOE Spacecraft that is based in some reality/realism would fare far better than something dreamed up. The Defiant/Crusader shuttle is still viable but in the event the mold is lost or unusable for this line, I still think something along the lines of within reality or within our near future would be a great addition to the GI JOE line.

All of those are lifting bodies, basically re-entry modules. If you're looking for something space flight worthy the space shuttle rehab that they used in Armageddon would be a good start. Or the shuttle design used in Superman Returns, one that can make orbit from the back of a jumbo jet. Otherwise a design capable of self take off and landing without the need to propel it on booster rockets.

The laws of physics don't change

I quite agree, and while the Space Shuttle was a trade-off of cross-range re-entry/gliding capability vs. cargo capability, and therefore not ideal for either case, I think there's an argument that if Hasbro were to make something, it should be something familiar (which fully agrees with your statement about making something based in reality rather than being made up.)

I like the idea of Joe getting back to the mission of exploration. Lunar and Mars missions would be a great place to start.
