My wife and I were at the mall today. I almost never bother with KB Toys but since I was there, hey, why not. I had checked in there last time I was at the mall and they had no figs at all. This time they had a Hooded CC and a Buzzer... for $8.99 each!! Comic packs, Scarlett/Hawk, were $12.99.
This is nuts. What did they do? Did they buy the peg warmers somewhere else and mark them up? I mean, after tax that's $9.62! That could be the TV bikini version of Scarlett or LJ and I still wouldn't throw that down on one fig! ... well maybe. Anyone else see them at this price? (sorry if it's a repost) |

KB is a last ditch effort to secure something you've been looking for. I was in one last week and they had a bunch of stuff on the pegs for that very reason.
They mark up their stuff so far up it is a wonder they are still in business. It's mostly because of the convenience factor of being in a mall when a parent doesn't have to leave the mall to go to a Toys R Us or Wal- Mart, Target, K Mart, etc when shopping for Christmas, birthday, on weekend, etc. |

I guess one thing we can also learn from this is that they only had a CC and a Buzzer. It doesn't take a genius to figure that someone bought the other figs from the case for that price. I'm just glad no one paid $9.62 for a Buzzer.

I seldon buy anything that's "new" at KB. They seem to be a great place to get stuff at a nice discount after it is no longer being shipped to stores. This probably b/c they mark their stuff up so much. They are supposed to be carrying the VvV singles for $4-5.

Yeah, generally they charge that kind of 100% mark up. I usually only go there for either some good laughs or clearance sales.
