I'm probably in the minority but I really don't like owning stuff that's rare & worth a lot. I had a few items, mostly Transformers that were worth over $300. I had a Medicom Darkstalkers Felicia vinyl figure that I sold for $500. And a Robotech Elintseeker that I sold for $1500.00. I don't really miss them & I didn't like having them here.
I still have a few Transformers that are worth a lot like my boxed G1 Roadbuster, Jetfire, Darkwing & Dreadwind. I'm always worried the boxes will get damaged or something like that. I prefer to have worthless stuff that I can knock around & not worry about. |

Then there are the items that are so rare they're never on ebay so you don't even know what they're worth. Like my MIB Galaxy Force Noisemaze Mass Production Type. I don't have a clue what it's worth now. It was over $100 when it was first released.

Yes and no. I like having rare items like comics and Pimp Destros (I miss them). Y'know, things that I can file or box away and be content knowing my collection is that much more "complete".
I don't like having expensive items I had to pay a lot for and want to play/work with. SDCC Sgt. Slaughter is a prime example. I played all my cards wrong last year and ended up getting reEmbayed $90 for my set. I really want a TTT to open and play with, but if I have to drop another 50 bones for one, he might just stay on card too.

I open everything so it's really not about value to me, the few packaged items I have are extras. I also try not to check prices unless I'm selling something or in the market for something. I honestly couldn't tell you what the most expensive item I have is worth. I collect with the idea that most of it will never bring me any profit except for items I buy solely for that purpose. So no I really don't care about having high end items around at all.

Luckily for me nothing of my collection is worth more than $150, Con exclusives have been the more expensive pieces in my collection as of late.
The sure vastness of the collection is another problem I am not ready to discuss yet : )

How much is Skystarstrikerscream supposed to be anyway? Galactus was real close to retail last year and came in much more elaborate packaging. If Strikerscreamstarsky is around the $40 range, I'll open it (if I get one).

Sssssss-aaaaahhhh...
That knocked a lot of the fight right outta me. Though at that price, it may be slightly easier to get a hold of than I originally thought.
