Just out of curiosity, has anyone actually seen a kid pick-up a single pack GI Joe 25th Anniversary action figure from pegs or shelves on your local toy or retail store?
I was wondering if kids are aware of the 25th anniversary toys, aside from the fact that adults who grew up with the series were the only ones who knew about GI Joes and are buying them off the shelves. I was at Toys R Us awhile ago searching for GI Joe single packs (found none) and BBi toys (plenty), when an unknown kid came close to me and was looking at the BBi toys i was holding. But the kid didn't bother much, as he walk pass by me and began tinkering on those Wrestling toys. And then more kids came running down on those Wrestling toys in which the shelves is overflowing with them. It seems that wrestling toys are actually more popular than i thought. I even saw a kid grabbing a belt and asking the parent to get it for him. |

I saw a kid at walmart buy the 25th joe set over an 8" adventure team set. He told his dad that there were more figures in that set for just a bit over the same price. He seemed pretty excited so he might already have knowledge of the characters, perhaps they were familiar due to the sigma 6 cartoon, or he was like us only younger. Who knows. One thing is for certain, the anniversary line isn't on shelves too long! I remember 2 weeks ago I went into a fully stocked target, only to return days later and finding empty pegs.

I saw this couple with their kids at TRU once. The dad saw single pack Snake Eyes and exclaimed "WHOA! THIS IS THE ONE YOU COULD NEVER FIND WHEN I WAS A KID, EVEN IF YOU WANTED IT!" This folks, is the reason Snake Eyes is packed more per case than others. |

Man, I don't care how lame I sound, but it nearly brought a tear to my eye when I walked in to Target and found the single card figures...then saw a young boy and what I believe was his Mom looking at them. I grabbed the 5 unique characters...whereas he was just begging and begging to get Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow...his Mom stated that he could only get one. I look at the Mom & Kid (his name was Charles), and said "You know what buddy? Today's your lucky day. I just happen to have an extra $10 on me...so if you want that Storm Shadow figure, he's YOURS!".
The kid got super excited, but Mom shot the idea down. I told her that I could completely understand why she would be hesitant, but advised her that I was doing it because I wanted "Brick & Mortar" sales to skyrocket, so I could ensure that product would be available in the future. She still said no...but eh, at least I tried ;) |

CIAD, stop hitting on the hot mommies. ;)
I haven't seen anyone near the Joe stuff. The pegs are empty except for some of the S6 Commando line. There must be a bunch of Ninjas buying the 25th Ann figs. |
