At my Kmart there were 1 G.I. Joe set and 2 Cobra sets, I bought one of the Cobras and my brother bought the Joes (i order mine on ebay already), when we came back in a few days the other Cobra was gone.
A few weeks later my brother found 2 Joes and 2 Cobras, when we came back the next day both Joes were gone and even now the 2 Cobras are still there. So while I may not be correct in my logic, it seems like something kids would do, buy the good guys and ignore the bad guys. So that may not prove anything, it seems to me, kids may be buying them. |

I guess 14 qualifies as a kid... after searching Toys R Us and Target I went to Walmart, and there were 2 Joe packs and 2 Cobra packs. I only had $30 on me so I snatched the Cobra Pack up.
P.S. I think that the younger kids judge what they buy based on looks... thats how I did it when I was 8... |

I saw a kid picked up the Cobra 5-pk set and looked elated! That's a one big kid, saying to myself! Wait a minute, that was no kid, that was me Man I love these 25th Anniv. !! Its apparent that the single carded are the ones that sells like hotcakes. I've been to countless retailers like Wal-Mart, Target, TRU, KB toys, Kohl's, and Mervyn's, and i've only come across one or two carded on the pegs. I'm like WTF! Are retailers not noticing the single carded sells the best over the 5 pk set? So after two months of searching, I finally have all the single carded (wave 1) except for the S.E. with white wolf.

Unlike most people on this site, I'm a fairly young collector. 13 to be exact. So I guess that's a yes, "kids" do buy these.
Although I'm a geek whose grown up with G.I Joe and knows more about it than just about any other kid my age, so I have no clue if younger kids who don't know that much about G.I. Joe and its history would buy these. |

Your 13 yrs old! Dang, I thought the 25th anniv attracted the old school 80's kids, but you proved me wrong. I remember at 13, I moved on gradually to members of the opposite sex. At that age I out grew my toys of G.I. Joes and Transformers. Its weird that I got back to my 80's toys when I reached about 22ish. So how the heck did you hear about the 80's Joes 3 3/4" line?

My brothers grew up with G.I. Joe, and when I saw their copy of the movie for the first time, I couldn't help but start collecting. I started collecting when I was 6, and I got in at the right time, considering that's when Hasbro started making the RAH Collection figures. My collection isn't as big as most people's, but I do have about 50 vehicles and 100+ figures.

Ahhh, so you got started by your brothers. And DAMN....kid, what do you mean your collection isn't as big as most fans?? Fifty vehicles and 100+ figures is like 100 times more than what I have. And how the heck do you managed to pay for your toys at age 13??

I saw a kid at Wally world yesterday looking at the joe 5 fig set. His mom wasn't going to get them. I just walked by and said "good luck finding them anywhere else". This was after I'd searched for days to find my sets. You can't find the singles ANYWHERE here! How do you guys get yours?

For real! The single carded are near impossible to find. I may have to go to eBay a search around instead of driving to the retailers on a weekly basis.

All I found here were single packs and at 2 K-marts, no sign of the 5 packs and the single packs I found look to be 1 case which I guess is 1 of each fig and 2 of SS and SE.
Had to go to Allentown 3 hours away and pick up the GI Joe 5-pack, and just got my Cobra 5-pack finally up in Binghamton NY 1 hour away. And no I haven't seen any kids buying or looking at them, but when there not on the shelves how can they ? Give them a freakin end-cap for God's sake !
